This is the rest of Adeline Troutman’s story. We talked in late November 2025. Hopefully, you became an admirer of her celestial music and mesmerising voice.

You can read Part One of the story HERE.

The Vertigo Vinyl exclusive pressing of her 2024 album, Inferno, sold out, but you can click through to order a copy of Gardener of Eden (2022), which features this trippy track:

The smoke, the glamour, the flash of the cameras
They don't mean shit to me
Let's get out of this town
Baby, we're on fire
Don't care if they see

"Ode to Evelyn" by Saint Avangeline

When Avangeline was trying to climb the ladder at 18, she did something that she eventually realised was traumatic: she made an OnlyFans account. She didn’t do anything “super crazy,” she says, but she gained a lot of fans before shutting it down; she wasn’t on OnlyFans for that long. She doesn’t usually talk about this, but it came up in our conversation because we were talking at length about creepy, nauseating people who were trying to get with her.

“I thought that if people were going to sexualize me anyway, why not do it first, so I feel as if I have power over the situation,” Troutman says. “I’m going to try to profit off your disgusting lust for me. I should at least be making some money off of this. A lot of young women are groomed into thinking that OnlyFans is a form of empowerment when it’s actually disempowering as a whole.”

The adult-content platform is estimated to have a company valuation of around $8 billion. In 2024, users spent $7 billion on OnlyFans. According to a GQ feature on Sophie Rain from March 23, Rain has made $100 million from OnlyFans. Leonid Radvinsky, the owner, recently died of cancer at 43 years old.

Despite how full of shit the economy is and how ridiculous the inflation rate is, “no one should have to feel like they need to sell their body to make a living,” Avangeline says. “It’s fucked up. Some women might be feeling as if they have no other option.”

Welcome to America: Land of the free, home of the buried.

“Doing OnlyFans is basically putting handcuffs on yourself, like you’re the Scarlett Letter Creator,” Troutman says, adding that she is actually anti-social media. “But the system forces content creators to use social media to market our work until a newer, better way is created. It’s almost as if we’re slaves to social media; it forces us to exploit ourselves.”

However, engaging in social media is technically a choice. I know people who have ignored it or erased their accounts, but that could mean having to live under a rock, maybe building a fort in the forest. Living in the woods would be better than feeling as if you have to unwillingly hustle yourself and your creations out into this world, which is getting increasingly robotic and unhinged.

“I feel like a monkey clapping cymbals,” says Avangeline. “All of this shit is a total delusion.”

Able to get some clarity eventually, Troutman became a singer who performs a cross-pollination of metal and lofty grace. In actuality, she didn’t start with Lana Del Rey covers; she started with covering music inside her closet…upwards of 600 different songs, which she sang in Japanese.

The Del Rey covers got Troutman popular on TikTok at the time. “I didn’t want to use her audio speaking about men, so I made gay versions of her songs; there are a lot of queer women who love Lana. I thought, well, I am a poet, have been writing poetry my whole life [she won an award for it], and I thought that I should try to make original music. I had a lot to say.”

At the time, Troutman couldn’t think of anyone making queer music of that style. That’s when she made Gardener of Eden; it took her two weeks. She usually writes during stressful times in her life. She got out of a mental institution in early 2022 after trying to take her own life. Gardener of Eden was released in April of the same year.
