Two Videos

A few weeks back I posted a notice about two world-historical events, an online panel made of Rowan Williams and DBH (et moi), and the revival of an old podcast with a new name, Worse for the Facts.

1. The first of those is now available to view. I must reiterate here what I said there, which is [1] that I’m well aware of my modest rank on the gradation of eminence, so to speak, and [2] that the triangulation of our Christologies is perhaps more productive than any of them considered in itself. It’s true that this brief discussion barely scratches the surface. Indeed the final minutes began to open the most suggestive paths forward (e.g. the sense in predicating of Jesus that, being God, he also became God—which inclines me to say that while “God becomes God” is an abstract absurdity, that God the Son, Jesus Christ, also became God, is not). At any rate, what an honor it was to participate.

2. Some months ago I had a fairly extensive and I think useful conversation with Jordan Warner, who's spent much time and labor producing the following video. In it we address various fundamentalisms, the allure of online apologists to young disaffected men, ecumenism—in general the beauty of Christ against many disfigurements of him. I must note as well that, for causes opaque to me now, I seem more, shall we say, candid, than I typically am. I suppose it’s due to the harm I’ve witnessed to many a person, harm generated by the ideas and fads and superficialities I set out to dismantle here.
