More notes and details about individual events with links underlined:

First stop, HARVARD BOOKSTORE where I will be in conversation with the brilliant writer JOSEPH FINDER, who just happens to have graduated from Harvard with a master’s from the Harvard Russian Research Center. A very smart guy! If you haven’t read Joe, you must. Hs recent bestselling novel “The Oligarch’s Daughter” is terrific! You can see a bit of him here because I interviewed him a few weeks ago.

Author Joseph Finder with whom I will be in conversation at the Harvard Bookstore

Next up is (WORDS) Bookstore in Maplewood, NJ with the amazing creator of Bookreporter.com. CAROL FITZGERALD. I was at (WORDS) years ago and loved the store, so I’m really pleased to be going back and with Carol! I hope all nearby NJ residents will come to see us.

Carol Fitzgerald creator of Bookrepoter.com who I will be chatting with at (WORDS) Bookstore, Maplewood, NJ

Then it’s home for my official NEW YORK LAUNCH! My good friend the art dealer JIM KEMPNER volunteered to host at his fabulous Chelsea gallery because there was not be enough room at the Soho bookstore, Bibliothèque NY, which is co-hosting and selling books. There is still a limited number of seats so please get your tickets here. I will be in conversation with multi award-winning author JOYCE CAROL OATES which is always fun and the DRINKS & SNACKS are on me!

Next, it’s the great mystery bookstore, MURDER BY THE BOOK, in Houston TX where I am looking forward to being in conversation with one of the best crime fiction influencers and bloggers, ABBY DUNN of @crimebythebook.

Murder By the Book, Houston TX where I will be interviewed by Abby Dunn of Crimebythebook

From there, to Phoenix AZ and another great indie POISONED PEN BOOKSTORE, run by bookseller extraordinaire, Barbara Peters. I love this store, plus I get to see some friends and cousins who live in the area, which makes it a personal pleasure for me.

Then it’s home for a break but not for long before I head to one of my favorite upstate NY towns, Saratoga Springs (home to Yaddo, the greatest art residency of them all, a place which has fostered artists of all kinds for more than 100 years). I’ll be at the SARATOGA BOOK FESTIVAL for 2 days. First in conversation with author JOHN SEARLES (I just finished his new book “Single Girls” which you will love!). John is smart, funny, and sassy, so I know it will be a fun conversation. Day two I am with ASHLEY WINSTEAD (her most recent novel “Hot Girl Murder Club,” whoa!) which promises to be another fun conversation.

John Searles with his boss Cosmo editor Helen Gurly Brown and his new book “Single Girls,” which we talk about at the Saratoga Book Festival.
Also in conversation with Ashley Winstead - above with ms pages - at the Saratoga Book Festival.

From there, it’s LITTLE CITY BOOKS in nearby HOBOKEN, NJ. Once again, I am blessed to be with JOYCE CAROL OATES, a second opportunity for readers to meet her and to get a copy of her fabulous new collection of short stories “The Frenzy.” (Side note: I lived in Hoboken after graduate art school and set one of my favorite short stories there for the anthology New Jersey Noir.

Then it’s another NJ venue, the METUCHEN PUBLIC LIBRARY (I love libraries).

There are a few virtual events listed and more to come.

I think there will be a NYC event for AXE: Stories that Cut Deep, a terrific new short story anthology (in which I have a story) from Heresy Press, though the date and venue have not yet been finalized (so stay tuned).

Other Possible events:

I hope to be doing an event with my terrific writer pal S.J. ROZAN in November for her new book, and will let you know.

I’m pretty sure I will be in KEY WEST, FL to celebrate the publication of KEY WEST NOIR on either March 2 at the Studios of Key West or March 8 at the Key West Library. I hope to be there for one or the other, so again stay tuned.

I was supposed to do an event with my great award-winning writer friend Megan Abbott, which got curtailed but I am looking for other possibilities (so keep an eye out and beware Megan!)

Some nice news: “Ten Perfect Guests” was reviewed yesterday in Shelf Awareness, the reviewing publication for independent bookstores and booksellers, so it’s important and meaningful for me.

I posted a video on my socials saying how I don’t like to invest in good reviews because then I need to invest in the bad ones. So far, my favorite response to that came from the renowned visual artist Judith Bernstein, who said, “Why do you have to invest in bad reviews?” Her comment stopped me. Why do I? Because I’m neurotic and superstitious and think it’s bad luck to enjoy good reviews? (Time to go back into therapy? I would but I’m so tired and bored of talking about myself.)

That’s it for now. I truly hope to see you at one book event or another!

Stay tuned for those “maybes” along with other dates and venues as they are added.

Thanks and more!
JONATHAN
