I found this beauty-FULL video of friends having a powerpoint presentation night.
powerpoint is a trigger to most of 9-5ers because for so long it has been a tool for buttoned up level of seriousness and even worse—for grades.
but these psychopaths made powerpoint fun again. And one can argue this is the original intent of the tool.
they all chose topics of interests in a bid to let their friends into their minds, convince their friends about an idea, or just let out the voices in their head.
And hopefully convinced everyone to see what they see.
you should try it with your friend group too.
imagine Adidas’ shock when they find out they’re now a conduit for jesus?
absolutely love the creativity!
the irony of this was, i was on my way to church on a sunday morning when I saw this. So, my guess is the message isn’t for me but maybe for those of you at the back? 👀
this year, I want to try to read the books of those around me more. The more I engage with their written works the more i get to see them more. And tbh, it’s a flex when you know the author of a book and can just send them snippets from the book to begin a conversation about something they share. Huge flex!
i caught this line from my friend (Busayo)’s book “North”:
And immediately ran to her dm to appreciate the languaging. I never seen anyone take me into the body of “tears” like she did there.
my eyes were almost blurry staring at that sentence.
It’s a 76-page book about a sickle cell kid and his struggle juggling school, faith, life, and this amazing friend comes along the way to make his life a little easier. You CAN GRAB A COPY HERE. It’ll threaten your vision like its doing mine.
“i’m just really not into fairytales anymore”
— Cadence Sinclair Eastman, We Were Liars (series)
this was a scene right at the end of the Season 1 episode 8, where Cadence was done with putting on a mask. Both the one she put on herself and the ones family/society forced her to wear.
but just like some of us, she had reached a breaking point. A point where most would label you a rebel. But Cadence didn’t care. She stood up for herself and was done with pretending to be who she wasn’t.
So, she decided to create a new story, a new lie.
for every change we’re trying to make in our lives, we need a new lie to tell ourselves, once the old one doesn’t serve us anymore.
Because liars, you should know—are forever.
