Reclaim Your Energy · Reclaim Your Energy

Monday mornings have a reputation, and they’re not always wrong. Most of us roll out of bed, grab our phones, and somehow end up fully invested in someone else’s vacation, outfit, or life update before we’ve even had a glass of water.

(btw, consider this your reminder to hydrate!)

But mornings can actually be one of the best parts of the day. Before the meetings, the errands, the group chats, and the endless tabs in your brain start piling up, you can have a little window of time that’s completely yours. You don’t need a two-hour miracle morning to make the most of it either. Sometimes swapping just 20 minutes of scrolling for something that leaves you feeling calmer, happier, or a little more awake is all it takes. Here are some ideas to steal for tomorrow:

Make your bed before leaving your room

It takes less than two minutes, but it instantly makes your space feel more put together. TIP: invest in some really nice bedding so it’s something you actually look forward to every day!

Do a few minutes of yoga to wake your body up before reaching for your phone

Your notifications will still be there in ten minutes. Tight hips, on the other hand, would appreciate the head start. You don’t need a full class either, just a few stretches can completely change how you feel.

Read a few pages of a book instead of someone else’s updates

Five pages might not sound like much, but it beats accidentally learning what your high school lab partner had for breakfast. Your brain deserves something a little more interesting first thing in the morning.

Move your body in any way that feels good, even if it’s just for ten minutes

A little movement wakes you up a whole lot better than another scroll through social media. It doesn’t have to be an intense 45-minute workout, just give your body a reason to stop feeling half-asleep.

Spend a few minutes journaling to clear your mind before the day begins

Get your own thoughts on paper before filling your brain with everyone else’s. It's amazing how much quieter your mind will feel once you've emptied it out a little.

Try a short meditation to give your brain a slower start to the morning

Think of it as mental strength training. Five quiet minutes now makes it a whole lot easier to stay calm when life inevitably gets chaotic later.

Practice a few rounds of breathwork to help you feel calm and focused

Funny enough, most of us go through the entire day without even taking one really deep breath. Give it thirty seconds and notice how different your body feels afterward.

Take a minute to plan your day before the notifications take over

Decide what deserves your attention before your phone starts deciding for you. You'll probably get a lot more done simply because you had a plan before the chaos started.

Step outside and get some morning sunlight as soon as you can

Your brain has its own internal clock, and morning sunlight is one of the biggest signals that it’s time to wake up. It’s basically caffeine for your circadian rhythm (not really but it helps to think of it that way).

Water your plants and enjoy a quiet little ritual before the day gets busy

Tiny rituals like this just make mornings feel a little less rushed and a lot more enjoyable. Plus, your plants have been patiently waiting all week!

Spend a few minutes working on one of your goals before working on everyone else’s priorities

Even ten focused minutes a day adds up faster than you think. It's also a good reminder that your dreams deserve a spot on your to-do list too.

Slow down and savor the moment instead of rushing into the scroll

Your morning doesn’t have to begin at full speed. Give yourself a few quiet minutes to actually enjoy this part of the day before jumping into everything waiting for you.

Start your morning with a big glass of water before your first cup of coffee

Keep a glass or water bottle on your nightstand and make it the first thing you reach for. The easier a habit is, the more likely you'll actually stick with it.

Take a moment to find something you’re genuinely grateful for today

Your brain gets really good at finding whatever you train it to look for. Give it something positive to notice before the day starts testing your patience.

Go for a morning walk and let your brain wake up with you

You don’t need to hit 10K steps before breakfast. One lap around the block is enough to clear your head and start the day on a better note.

Listen to a self-hypnosis recording to start the day with a more positive mindset

You already spend plenty of time listening to everyone else, why not spend a few minutes investing in yourself first?

Read something that inspires you before the day gets busy.

Your morning is valuable real estate. Fill it with ideas you’ll actually remember instead of content you’ll forget by lunch.

Prep a meal for later and give your future self one less thing to think about

Future You is going to be ridiculously grateful when lunchtime rolls around. Healthy choices become a whole lot easier when you've already done the hard part already!

Dance to your favorite song before leaving the house

One of my favorites! It's very hard to have a bad morning when your kitchen has turned into a 5-minute dance floor. Bonus: get everyone in your household involved!

Put on some music that instantly puts you in a good mood

No energy to dance? A good playlist can also change the vibe of a morning faster than any algorithm ever could. Choose the soundtrack for your day instead of listening to the same trending audio for 20 minutes.
