Live and Let Live, lyrics by John Reneaud
The dogged despair from another unentitled day
This dude won't quit bitching at me
Something 'bout he dropped a quarter in the elevator door
On his way to the hotel lobby
Live and let live
Live and let live
Used to be the way
Used to be
Can't say it enough these rough
Dudes talking like college professors
They sound really stupid mocking everyone near
Like we don't know how they gaslight
Live and let live
Live and let live
Used to be the way
Used to be
Enough of your volume 'bout being right
and naming everyone else wrong
Get off your hate about hate stop acting out
Don't take yourself so serious
Live and let live
Live and let live
Used to be the way
Used to be
The dogged despair of another unentitled day
Live and let live
Live and let live
Used to be the way
Used to be

A fellow ran into me one day rather dismayed about a perception he had that I wasn't treating him as the emperor he believed himself to be. It started with me attempting to solve his issue only the more I tried to empathize with his unreasonable requests the more his tender ego raged. Then we argued. He lost in that effort with me. He tried to get me fired. And he went to the police. When the police showed up they let me know just to call them next time and they would arrest him. I didn't really want to call the cops on this fellow. I understood he was having a bad day in a long history of bad days and that he most likely could not help himself from being an ass. He was so insistent that he was going to make me do what he wanted. The lyrics of this song mostly came from that encounter.
This song is a cross over country piece on my catalog titled The Wonderment and Pain of Cal Trask.
