After appearing as a guest interview on the My .4 Cents podcast on music marketing, I got another invite to appear as a guest host. Matt Bacon and Ryan Schutte wanted to get my take on artist development and (gulp) AI legislation.
The development part was specifically about Abigail Rose, Silvelab, and the vitality of Abigail’s song Betty’s in the Band with Weston Hunter. I’ll write more about all of this soon, but it’s a good overview of this three-year project, and my thoughts on development, working with artists, the state of labels, and a bunch of my BS.
The AI piece was a little tricky because I hadn’t read the proposed EU legislation Matt brought up. I talked more generally to dodge the hard questions and ranted as usual about how angry I am that Suno still exists.
Let me know what you think!
Gotta say, I look pretty slick in the still.
