Hello everyone! It’s time for the Sunday Night Check-In. Welcome, especially new subscribers. I’m glad you’re here and invite you to say howdy in the comments. It is summertime, so no surprise that we are writing from the fiery furnace of North Louisiana. Projected highs in the 100s this coming week have us being mindful of staying hydrated.
Yesterday was my wedding anniversary. Thirty-nine years ago, I married my favorite girl, and she has remained by my side. Like most men, I married way above myself. No one knows how many days they have left on this earth, but I hope all of mine will be spent together with Maggy.
This coming Sunday, I will begin a series of sermons at the Mt. Zion Church of Christ, located near Brookhaven, Mississippi. I will be offering some lessons under the theme of Walking With Jesus. If you are in the area, I hope you’ll come out and visit. Sunday times are 9:30, 10:30, and 5 pm. Weeknights at 7 pm. Zach Flemming is their preacher.
HOPE TRAVELS is my newest book that will become available (I hope) later this week. I have a few early readers, but would be happy to have one or two more. It is a short story, I believe, rich in meaning and encouragement. Either send me an email or let me know in the comments if you’d like to read it and write a few sentences in review.
Forsythe Church
At Forsythe Church of Christ this morning, we continued in a series on the book of Colossians. Today we focused on the Christ-Hymn in Colossians 1:15-20. Notes for today’s message can be found HERE. Next Sunday, Daniel Kirkendall will preach from Colossians 2. Also, after services today, we had a baptism! Say a prayer for Jacob as he begins his new life in Christ.

Right now I’m reading The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis. Yes, I know I should have read this forty years ago. But I’m enjoying it now!
