Ahmed Alkhatib Was Interrogated By Norwegian Police After A Hamas Supporter Made A Complaint

Well, this is a very strange story.

I woke up today to a story from Norway about Ahmed Al-Khatib being interrogated by the Norwegian police while in the country to participate in a panel during a politics festival.

I saw this tweet from Henrik Beckheim, who is a Jewish-Norwegian podcaster:

What Ahmed said is very logical. Israelis and Palestinians must live in peace with each other, yes. There’s no other way. Neither side is on the verge of disappearing or giving up.

Hamas is terrible for the Palestinian people, yes. Many Palestinians in Gaza agree! I agree.

Ahmed himself also discussed the incident in a post, saying that officers asked him “increasingly inappropriate questions”:

I find it truly bizarre that the Norwegian police would have interrogated Ahmed. There is copious information that is publicly available that shows what Ahmed’s political alignment is: pro-peace. Pro-Palestine. Pro-coexistence. Anti-violence.

When did these become dangerous ideas?
