Godless, Deranged Rich Kids Plot a Revolution

Here are the shock troops of the communist revolution — clinging to their masks, at home in their slovenly clothes, thinking up evil ploys to bring America to her knees.

At a recent meeting hosted by the Chicago Teachers Union, one anti-Israel organizer advocated sabotaging US ports like Charleston SC. “If we shut down even one terminal for two hours, that’s millions of dollars out in logistics,” he explained.

As House Speaker Mike Johnson says, the barbarians are no longer outside the gates. They are within our borders, planning to overthrow the U.S. Constitution. In a fiery declaration yesterday, the usually soft-spoken Johnson referenced the words Congress carved on the marble wall behind the speaker’s rostrum, “In God We Trust.”

Congress put ‘In God We Trust’ above the rostrum in 1962, at the height of the Cold War, said Johnson, because “they wanted to remind everybody who would ever serve in this body... that there is a huge distinction between us and the Soviets’ philosophy — communism, Marxism, socialism — all this begins with the premise that there is no God. It’s a totally different philosophy.”

The themes of this year’s 250th birthday make clear that America was founded on the unique promise of rights guaranteed not by government nor by man but by the Creator. As John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

In Marxist countries, God is one of the first things written out of the culture. A classical education quickly follows because, as Vladimir Lenin said after his Bolshevik Revolution, “Give me just one generation of youth, and I’ll transform the whole world.” Quickly after that, people lose their rights, their income and often their lives.

Adams and the other founders understood that a self-governing republic needed citizens who believed in God. As Christian author C.S. Lewis, put it, “If there is no God, then there is no real right and wrong.” And without God, all kinds of perversions take His place — from transgender surgeries to communist politics.

In the last few months, what Johnson called “crazy mini-Mamdanis are popping up all around the country — a danger to you and your family.” Their manifesto has been published, and the platform of Democratic Socialists of America an unambiguous attack on the U.S. Constitution. They intend to abolish the Senate and the presidency, making those two institutions subservient to the House. They want to pack the Supreme Court, along with everything that makes the United States sovereign and free. They want an end to Israel, and to ICE. In short, they want a new Constitution.

“This is not our Father’s Democrat Party,” said Johnson. “We’re not arguing marginal tax rates anymore. We’re arguing whether or not freedom is going to survive!”

What’s striking about this army of mim-Mamdanis is how many of them, including New York’s mayor, come from wealthy backgrounds. Adopting the Marxist playbook, they claim to be fighting for the rights of the working class, but many are nepo-babies.

Zorhan Mamdani is the son of acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair (Mississippi Masala, Monsoon Wedding, Salaam Bombay!) and Columbia U prof Mahmood Mamdani. The mayor was raised in cultural and intellectual privilege across New York, South Africa and in Uganda, where his family controls 60% of the country’s GDP.

Graham Platner, the often disgraced Dem candidate for US Senate from Maine, is a graduate of Hotchkiss, an expensive boarding school in Connecticut. His wealthy parents also paid to set him up as a homeowner, and as an oyster farmer. In fact, his only client is his mother, who needs the oysters because she runs a restaurant.

And of course Bernie Sanders, who has been campaigning for socialism for more than four decades, is a millionaire with three homes and the wealth to charter private jets for his travel to push for communism. Early in his career, he ran for mayor of Burlington, Vt. as a Communist and was defeated. Ever since he has styled himself as a Democratic Socialist.

“It’s predicated on envy,” historian Victor Davis Hanson said of the commie trend. “This is not a bottom-up phenomenon. It’s top-down. These are people who are very upper middle class. The rest of the country are lab rats, and they are exempt from the consequences of their own ideology. And we know that because they like privilege, and they’re accustomed to privilege. So for them, it’s a game.”

You could make an argument that this generation has been particularly vulnerable to trend. No better example exists than their embrace of transgenderism as outlined by Abigail Shrier in Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters, or the TikTok crazy of teen mobs, or the Facebook debates on suicide.

May God intervene, and lead them to faith.
