Generative AI is hot right now. It’s a lot like the early days of mobile where every company had to have an app - even if it was useless. Eventually, businesses figured out how to leverage mobile and offered compelling solutions that millions of people use daily.
When I was writing a book, I was also teaching a course based on the book. I built this little app that helped me organize, navigate and edit the book’s content quickly. When something didn’t make sense to a student, I could make changes to the book in realtime. A lot of the success of that book came from the speed of that feedback cycle.
In software, we do something called ‘rubber duck debugging’. It’s where you tell a little rubber duck about the problem you are trying to solve, and you end up solving it yourself while you’re explaining it.
