Jodi Sh. Doff · Only The Jodi: Life as a Sober, Aging, Dementia Caregiver

This past Saturday, Sue Fagalde Lick joined us on Zoom to talk about caring for elderly parents, long-distance caregiving, the financial impact, family dynamics and asking for help. When we opened up the discussion to viewers, the question we all ask ourselves came up:

What do we do when it’s our turn?

How do we make sure we go out on our own terms?

You can find out more about Sue, her poetry, music and any of her seventeen—yeah, you read that right—seventeen books here, at suelick.com.

On the second Saturday of each month, at 2:00 pm Eastern Time, 1pm Central, 11am Pacific, I sit down with one or two caregivers—and you—and we’ll share our stories, along with tips, hope, silliness, and struggles. If you’re a current or former caregiver, if your life has been touched by dementia, illness, addiction, death, or incarceration, we’ve been where you are.

I realized there was a question I didn’t ask, that I wish I had, so I’m asking you.

Cuppa Joe & a Slice of Pie

Join us live on Zoom, next month on Saturday, September 12 at 2pm Eastern.

  • Caregiver daughters and narcissistic mothers

  • What happens to the romance and relationship when you’re caring for a spouse with dementia?

  • Where’s the money coming from and where is it going?

  • Housing options: my house, your house, assisted living, and memory care

  • Life after caregiving, when you’ve lost your central focus

  • End of life decisions and choices

  • Caring for the caregiver, but really, how does that actually work?

I see book covers.

Each month, I judge a book solely by its cover. Authors have two minutes to tell us what they think their book is about. Five minutes start to finish.
