If I Had 6 Months to Fix a Dating Life That Looks Fine on Paper

If youre like many women I know - technically your dating life is fine… you have options. You are not short on matches, introductions, or people who slide into a conversation and hold it for a week. On paper, the pipeline looks healthy. BUT nothing is converting, and maybe you start deciding that the problem is the men, the city, or the era.

I want to be precise about what “not converting” actually means, because most women describe it as an absence of good men when it is really an absence of a system. You are optimizing for the wrong signal early, and then disqualifying people for the wrong reasons late.

If you gave me six months to fix this, I would not tell you to get on more apps or say yes to more setups. Adding volume to a broken filter just gives you more people to be disappointed by, faster. I would rebuild the filter itself.

Not what you say you want. What you have historically said yes to. Those are two different lists. You will tell me you want someone consistent and available, and then I will look at the last five people you dated and every one of them was charming, hard to pin down, and gone by month three.

Most women apply hard filters early and soft filters late. They disqualify someone in week one for texting style or a job that is not impressive enough, then hand a full pass to someone with obvious character issues because the chemistry is loud. Be picky about the right things at the right time.

You do not assess compatibility on date two. You assess availability and consistency of behavior. Compatibility is a later-stage test, and testing for it early just means you are writing a fantasy about a stranger.

Below is the actual six-month rebuild. The month-by-month sequence, the specific filters and when to apply them, the disqualifiers you are currently ignoring, and the one metric worth tracking instead of asking yourself whether you are in a relationship yet.
