Ekklesia, Headship, and the Complementarian Debate

In May of 2003, the Southern Baptist (SBC) International Missions Board (IMB) lost 43 missionaries in one day, due to pressure to sign the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message, which excluded women from general leadership and demanded submission of wives to husbands.
Lack of autonomous equality between women and men and domestic abuse are so closely related, that I have a difficult time talking about the one without mentioning the other.

Though first defined by men who hated the very idea of feminism, the definition of feminism, even then—the example below is from a 1931 dictionary [a few years after women gained the right to vote]—and was defined as “advocating for women full equality with men in regard to political rights, working conditions, social standing, etc.:
Dale Partridge says, “Nearly every legalized moral atrocity in the last 100 years was made possible by the female vote.”
Complementarians say no.
