A school was robbed!

Super excited to tell you I have a new book out!

I started writing this text as an exercise for a workshop back in 2021! Since then, the story kept growing and reshaping. I didn’t work on it all the time, but I picked it up occasionally, and made a lot of versions, until it got here. I’m so happy to see it printed and on it’s way to bookshops!

The title of the book doubles as a synopsis: It is about three friends (Nora, Rute and Diogo) who set out to investigate a school break-in. You can read the first two chapters here! (In Portuguese)

You can find the book in most bookshops in Portugal, but, if you’d like to get a signed copy sent directly to your home, that can also be arranged! You can order it here up until 15th of May. I’ll ship all the orders by the end May.

Why buy the book directly from me?

Not only you’ll get a special copy with a drawing from me, but also I earn a lot more from the books I sell myself! Let’s be honest, when you buy a book, the percentage of the price you pay that goes to the author is quite small, most often less than 10%. Even when a book sells well, it hardly covers for the time it took to make it. But when I resell my books, 40% goes to me. It’s a big difference!

On other book news, the French translation of Pardalita, published by Thierry Magnier, received a prize Lu & Partagé. The ceremony was in Brussels, and look at the trophies:

Apparently they are made by a chocolate artisan and it’s his wife who handknits the little scarfs.
