Better late than never, the GeoJS 2024 update is finally here!
2024 was a record-breaking year for GeoJS. Traffic grew significantly compared to previous years, with December smashing all previous records at over 8.6 billion requests in a single month. This easily beats the previous monthly peak of 6.2 billion back in February 2021.
Traffic remained relatively stable through the first half of the year before climbing again from July onwards. December saw the biggest spike with a massive 23% growth over November.

2024 absolutely unlike last year broke all previous single-day records. The 26th of December served 297,736,142 requests totalling 338 GB of traffic. This dwarfs the previous record from November 2023, which served 216 million requests at 250 GB.
Over 2024, GeoJS served 82 TB of traffic to users, with Cloudflare serving 27 TB of those directly from their cache. This is a significant jump from 2023’s 60 TB total and 12 TB cached. As always, I want to thank Cloudflare for providing the bandwidth they do. GeoJS continues to face DDoS attacks, and Cloudflare handles them seamlessly.
In September 2024, GeoJS moved to Hetzner. After years of juggling DigitalOcean, Vultr, and AWS Route53, I simplified everything down to a single CPX11 machine in Hetzner’s Ashburn, VA data center. The move has been flawless with zero hiccups, and it’s been the most stable GeoJS has ever been.
