Cole Prots · secrets of the stars

The beginning of 2026 has quite literally been the shittiest of shows. Unfortunately, it seems like anything that could go wrong has. And just when you think it can’t get worse, the news reminds you that it in fact can.

Like, I know I can’t be the only one who feels like my life lately is straight out of a Black Mirror or Twilight Zone episode. It’s times like these I am grateful for therapy and thc.

That said, right now isn’t the time to fall into a state of despair. It’s Pisces season bitch; the energy you exude will magnify and flow to those around you. On top of that, we are fortunate enough to be living through an era of unprecedented (and chaotic) astrology that will absolutely whip our shit into shape.

  • Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus all changing signs around the same time is saggy and doesn’t happen often. Thank god they’re all in harmonious aspect to each other!

On March 18, the Pisces New Moon hints at the age old cliche as one door closes another one opens. After a long ass eclipse season, it’ll be nice to get back to the regularly scheduled manifestations and cleansing we all love without fearing tectonic upheaval as a result.

Simply put, new moons are new beginnings. The sky is devoid of the circular symbol the represents what the collective is feeling and where we are heading. The universe becomes a blank canvas awaiting for us to create something beautiful.

I’ve been sitting with Pisces as the mutable water sign and how water exists in nature. Whether a solid, liquid, or gas, water is essential for sustaining all life (I think all life, I didn’t study biology so don’t come for me). Under this new moon, let’s take it back to elementary school science class and reflect on condensation.

The Pisces New Moon is lifting things (whether that be intentions, ideas, emotions, etc.) up to the high heavens. Which means that the subsequent rainfall (which will happen over the course of 6 months as we get closer to the Pisces Full Moon later this year) will carry all the shit that we choose to hold and go after onto under this new moon.

Water is believed to hold energy and intention. Say you take two glasses of water. Though disputed by boring ass physicists, if you were to say “yes queen! I love you and I celebrate how much nourishment you provide,” to one glass of water and to another say “you are a tasteless nasty piece of SHIT! I’ll stick to my Diet Coke.” The quality of the positive affirmation water will increase immensely. You can test this by using this method with the water you give to house plants (but be aware you may kill your plants).

All this to say that the intentions, ideas, emotions, and energy we hold under this new moon will flavor the “water” of the moment. So what are you going to be flavoring your new moon with? What is your soul yearning for? What ending will lead to a new beginning?

Pisces transits can often be very mystifying and confusing, so if it isn’t clear “what” you are going often that’s okay. We are still in the midst of a Pisces Mercury retrograde and adjusting to Neptune setting into Aries. It may seem simple and straightforward to go with whatever is flowing the most naturally, however astrology often is quite on the nose.

Take some time to slow down and let the answers come to you. This could come in the form of a recurring idea that keeps popping up during meditation, something you keep making excuses for that now feels as though a path is cleared up, or anything that just feels right. Again, I know that seems quite straightforward but trust me if you try and over analyze astrology you will give yourself a migraine.

Some good news: Jupiter (in exalted Cancer) is no longer retrograde (weeeee!) Which means one of the ruling planets of the moon is in good form aiding the success of this lunation. That said, Jupiter is at odds with Venus (in detriment Aries). Jupiter is definitely a stronger influence than Venus at the moment (which is good for us); that said, just be careful about doing too much, growing something that is driven by competition or ego, and rushing the process.

If there was an anthem for the Pisces New Moon it would be Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield. Is it overplayed and overdone? Yes. Is it still completely relevant to the situation? Yes. So give it a listen and reflect on how the lyrics could be a framework for your own actions moving forward.

Aries

Aries, the Pisces New Moon is going to open the door for new spiritual endeavors. You might feel a bit of nostalgia as you realize that as one door closes another one opens. Be prepared to release in order to let the light come in. Exploring new spiritual habits like meditation, yoga or journaling that allow you to finding grounding moments in this hectic life is important. This could lead to deep healing by letting you recognize the ways to rid yourself of toxins (whether spiritual or material).

Taurus

Taurus, the Pisces New Moon is about building a nourishing community and new connections. This means finding your soul group — the people who are perfectly aligned with your vision of the world. Finding new social groups that are supportive of your dreams should be one of the main intentions under this new moon. Dream up a magical utopia and start taking practical steps toward having that dream become a reality. Your future is within your grasp.

Gemini

Gemini, get ready because you’re getting the green light to go after your dream career. This is going to require a bit of reflection on what really matters to you. What work satisfies your spiritual and material needs? What fulfills you after a long day? Letting go of control or a desire to be seen a certain way might help you maneuver the upcoming changes. Be open to changing your path, or being more direct about what you actually wish to work toward.

Cancer

Cancer, the Pisces New Moon is whispering “oh that places you can go.” You might be imagining or romanticizing going on a glamorous adventure or booking your dream vacation. What’s stopping you? What might you learn about yourself or the world around you by stepping out of your comfort zone. Get philosophical and imaginative. Start viewing the world as a blank canvas and your experiences as the paint that colors the world.

Leo

Leo, the Pisces New Moon is a moment for deep transformation. As you emerge from the astrological winter, the spring time promises growth. Live and let live is the motto. Embracing an era of letting go and sharing your most vulnerable parts is going to serve you well. What scares you the most about sharing your whole self? Who does it serve to keep your truth bottled up?

Virgo

Virgo, the New Moon is a new perspective on relationships. You might notice that some relationships are ending or taking new shape. In the same moment, new ones are starting to burst out from beneath your nose. Don’t get caught up glamorizing others or romanticizing what was or could have been. Embrace the connections where you can release control and don’t feel the need to show up in a certain way. If you feel tense around someone, that’s your cue.

Libra

Libra, the Pisces New Moon is about healing work. This means finding the routines that align with your circadian rhythms and adding in spiritual practices that balance you out. Day dreaming, getting lost in meditation, or consulting your tarot cards will come more naturally right now, and that’s good because they have important messages for you! Accept new ways to nourish your physical and spiritual health, and be willing to let the nonsense fade away.

Scorpio

Scorpio, get ready for creativity galore! The Pisces New Moon is asking you to see the world with a rose colored lens, embracing the freedom of a childlike POV. Creative and romantic pursuits will become your magic and lead you toward your muse. What is the art you wish to consume? What is the love you wish to receive? The answer is what you need to create and give right now.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius, some much needed TLC is coming your way. However, before it does you need to answer some questions. Do you treat your home like a sacred space? Do you treat yourself like a precious gift? Are you taking the time to nourish your inner world? Look forward to ways to connect with your family and relate to those you allow in your inner circle. There’s so much potential for you to refresh your roots right now.

Capricorn

Capricorn, the Pisces New Moon is full of new ideas and tools to use at your disposal. The everyday life is going to become more magical. Plenty of deja-vu type moments could give you a much needed ah-ha. Stay imaginative and be willing to brainstorm, but don’t keep those good ideas to yourself. Listen to what the universe is whispering, find the synchronicities, and share with the world around you.

Aquarius

Aquarius, the Pisces New Moon is going to bring luck and good fortune to your finances and material world! What you need is coming to you, and what you value is going to help you get it. It’s important right now to ask yourself “what matters the most to me?” Making sure that you use your resources in a way that aligns with your values. Then the universe will send you plenty of gifts.

Pisces

New year, new you! Right before the spring equinox means you are setting intentions to grow into the most magical version of yourself. How do you see yourself? Who do you wish to become? Are you expressing yourself authentically? Set the intention to be unapologetically you! Great time to revamp the wardrobe, get a haircut, etc.
