This is important.

Think of that blade of grass coming through the crack in the sidewalk, it is meant to find it’s way growing, you are too. Even when it feels like you are pushing through cement.

It’s beautiful when we grow with the people in our life. Whether our primary relationship, friendship, family member, co-worker, manager.

We all know, it’s not that easy, and that GROWing with someone doesn’t always happen. So what do we do?

Being alive is about growing. You stop, and you stop your life force in some way. I don’t want you to invest hours and hours of time and energy trying to water someone who doesn’t want to grow, that is exhausting. Just water yourself for awhile, and see what happens.

Here’s my best mindsets to embrace this process of continuing to grow, when someone isn’t growing with you:

  • Be ok with it. Be ok with it. Be ok with it. You are making your choice. They are making theirs. It’s ok to grow on your own, really it is. If they are content, be totally happy with their contentedness. Have not expectations of others, that just creates suffering.

  • Don’t try to change them, that will never work. They are the only ones who can choose to change and grow.

  • Think of putting YOUR roots down, firmly. Stand tall, in YOU. In your authenticity, in your truth, in your expression. When you stand tall in YOU, you aren’t all tangled up in trying to co-create and get the growth on with them. Find your joy, your happiness, your peace, your expression. Root down in you, discover what you want to grow into. (Think of tree pose in yoga, firmly rooted in you.)

  • Then, as you get rooted, grow your branches. Grow your branches, whether you stretch your arms or not, think BLOSSOM during this time. This is not a time to constrict and get small, to be frustrated with them and get tangled up. No, this is just about you. Have a mindset of GROWING and POSSIBILITY, beauty for you. What may be possible if you grow? Don’t focus on frustration of getting something from them, this is about you loving you AND HOW YOU WANT TO GROW.

  • If it’s really a struggle with the other, practice forgiveness with them. Forgive them, and ask how can you GROW from this? (Check out the Loving Kindness meditation for a forgiveness practice.)

  • Then, as you are rooted in you, in your AUTHENTICITY, and beauty, and creativity, happiness, growing in your way, opening up your branches of possibility - I guarantee, ideas, inspirations, beauty, nudges, people, books, curiosities, insights WILL come to you to support your growth. Have fun with it! Have a mindset of POSSIBILITY BLOSSOMING as you grow.

  • Stand tall in who you are, stretch those lovely branches, and watch those possibilities of beauty land on your branches, like a lovely bird, singing a new song.

  • Then, one day, you’ll know what to do with this relationship that isn’t growing in this way you thought you needed. You are going to be so damn happy not expecting anything from them, GROWING, it will change everything. You’ll know if you need to cut back, prune, what it will need to look like co-creating with them moving forward, you’ll adjust moving forward. But don’t you dare stop growing. You may just find out, that by you being your beautiful you, you are happier, more joyful, patient, caring. I think we all need something that is uniquely ours to grow into.

Spring is a perfect time to put down your roots, stretch those branches, grow some blossoms, and who knows - maybe there is some fragrance that will come with this.

Focus on the NEW BUDS OF beauty BLOSSOMING. Don’t get hung up in the other, that will take care of itself if you continue to GROW.

So proud of you for being open to GROW. Don’t miss this spring, perfect timing.

Blossom dear,

Jill
