Hello, Hi! School has officially been underway for my oldest for a week now and just shy of a week for my other two. I am DETERMINED to get my life not just on track but together. I am clawing my way out of a deep hole of being behind on both my email inboxes, my texts, and my to-do lists. I am DETERMINED to not be chasing every deadline this year and instead to be ready for them, casually already having taken care of whatever the deadline called for ahead of time or when I learned of it in the first place. I am also DETERMINED to show up and not just to say I will in my head. To volunteer more for the things I want to give my time to. To put the birthday cards in the mail. All of it. I have that back to school energy and I’m hoping it sticks with me through year end. Who is with me!?
Now, a bit of what I’ve collected around the web and life this week. Lots of goodness today! x
Attention. “Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.” - Simone Weil. In the same vein of what I wrote above, I’m aiming to pay attention. Pay attention to my priorities, my people, my conversations, my calendars, my focus, my north stars. I want this to be a mantra of sorts for me through the remainder of 2026.
I Heard Through the Grapevine that we Flooded her DMs! When Annie Meyers-Shyer announced her book tour for her debut book, This Oak House, Charleston was not on the list. Well, I heard all the Charleston gals slid into her DMs and our beloved Library Society made it happen - she added a date for Charleston. Tickets here. Call Buxton Books to buy the book locally here. Or, grab it here. (Nancy wrote the forward!).
These Pants Will Sell Out Again. Phew, thank goodness they are giving us more of these since they sold out in a hot minute! Order the Bandana Brown now and you’ll be so happy come 9/10. I have them and LOVE them.
The Recipes I Cooked Last Week That Were Hits.
Slow cooker red wine short ribs (mashed potatoes felt too heavy to serve with them for August so I served with roasted carrots and cauliflower instead - Kids were OBSESSED with these)
Zucchini pasta (I added chicken breast for protein)
One bowl banana bread (the boys loved this as an after school snack!)
Calabrian chili cherry tomato alla vodka (I added ground sausage and made a batch without chilis for the boys)
***I got the short ribs and banana bread recipes from this great recipe resource!
A New Etsy Shop to Save. Is there any woman out there who doesn’t love topiaries? I discovered the brilliant Etsy shop, Lamoureux Greenhouses, through a friend and now can’t wait to share it with you. They have a great selection of live topiaries and reasonable prices, making it easy to bring greenery inside.
21 Vintage Decor Shops Lizzie Fortunato Tells her Friends About. Lizzie and I have different taste but there are some gems here I loved learning about.
This New Bookstore in New York. I have a running list of independent bookstores I want to visit that boop and bop around my brain. Periwinkle Books is the newest on my list - the children’s section with Mer’s mural is the most magical sight.
This Jacket Gets a Gold Star! I saw it, I loved it, I had to have it.
5 New Novels About the Families We Love and Can’t Escape. I read the descriptions of each of the 5 books and can’t pick one to start on. They all sound great.
Moms, This Will Bring a Smile to Your Face. So cute! And, you can get the look here. It’s all about the little luxuries in life.
Mary Nelson Sinclair has New Work Coming. And soon, really soon! 8/27 to be exact.
Under $200 Finds. Finds so good you can’t believe the price.
I love this striped dress for August and September! Perfection.
I’m veryyyyy into this denim jacket. The shape is perfect for over dresses and skirts.
Purple is big for fall this year. This top and pants do right by purple.
AYR Early Morning Tees already come in at under $200 but they are also offering 20% off right now when you buy 2 or more.
She’s cute, she’s mini, and she’s ready for fall!
This shirt + lace embroidered cape top is all kinds of fun.
I can’t tell you how much I love this stripe polo sweater! I’m ready for jeans and pullover sweater weather.
She’s a best seller and she’s a best seller!
Pull on pants you can do anything in.

Cutie socks in lovely fall colors.
Okay, and something for the littles because wow this cashmere sweater for little girls and little boys alike is just darling.
A BIG Author Talk. My avid-reader girlfriend, Grace, is interviewing (!!!) Jodi Picoult here in Charleston at the Charleston Music Hall as part of her new book tour. Can you even? SO major. I’m excited for Grace and excited to attend.
Wicker + Rattan Still Work in the Fall! Wicker and Rattan have their heyday every year spring-summer but what about fall? I’m always excited about suede and rich leathers but also not ready to say goodbye to the ease of wicker. That’s why I love the French “market bags” from Leah O’Connell. She just sold them out but they were such a hit that she has them available again for a very limited preorder right now! They are handmade and beautiful and different from what you’ll see everyone else carrying. Chocolate is my favorite for fall.
Last week’s best sellers:
This fantastic cotton cashmere rugby polo sweater - rugby polos are HUGE for fall and I’m all about it
You guys are clamouring over the crochet detailing on these pants as much as I am!
We are loving this oxford tote and I love this for us
You all have clicked on this pretty midi skirt so many times since I shared it last week!
Cotton poplin always wins
xx Jillian
