No one loves a beach vacation more than an island person. We just spent nine days in the BVI. The first half adrift across the islands on a catamaran with friends, the second half a bit more quiet and slow at the Rosewood Little Dix. If you find yourself there, the fish burger is perfect.
I’m petitioning for hotels, particularly beach adjacent ones, to have curated libraries where you can grab a book to enjoy during your time there. After forgetting my Kindle at home, I scoured the hotel for anything to read and all anyone could find was a James Patterson novel. Which I read, btw, lol. It reminded me how much I love holding an actual book, something the ease of a Kindle & Libby lets me forget time and time again. Now we’re back home, and I’m cataloguing some favorite summer things and saving a few rabbit holes for their own letters.
Before the trip, I was consumed with the idea of finding a white swimsuit, something I’ve definitely attempted and failed at before. Why is everything so see-through? I ordered from six brands: Lido, Eres, Mare Perpetua, Matteau, Hunza G, and Left on Friday and only loved this Matteau one. The fabric is a bit thicker and textured which provides some cover.
I've been collecting a base of gold-toned pieces, and pairing them with one solid swatch of color of red, pink, purple, or turquoise, has become a sort of formula for my summer uniform.

Lately, I’ve been finding music through the playlists of places I admire from afar. There’s Tuba Club, the beach club perched on the rocks outside Marseille, where the whole point of the evening is watching the sun drop into the Mediterranean with a crisp glass in hand. I dream of spending an afternoon at Loggia, a wine bar wedged into the cliffs of Sifnos, natural wine by the glass, and a record spinning somewhere out of sight. There’s Bar Martha, a listening bar we just visited in Tokyo, with an enormous sound system and various styles of music endlessly playing. And Gjusta, our old Venice hangout, bringing back memories of afternoons waiting for our number to be called.
I’ve also liked building radios from songs I love rather than by artist, which is how I landed on two new obsessions: Rio Kosta and La Lom.

Unfortunately for our wallets, this body oil from Retrouve is as good as tariro makoni says. As someone who runs dry, I notice a real difference when I apply it right after a shower (especially when I use this before). The packaging is solid and the pump creates a whipped texture that’s very decadent.

I can’t stop thinking about these side tables by Brazilian artist Lucas Recchia. This coffee table is also a work of art and would be the perfect touch at our PR house.
Before we left Japan, I started researching vintage Ikebana books and landed on this one. The photos and descriptions do not do justice to the quality and the work of art it is. This book is a visual treasure trove and I can’t imagine there being a better Ikebana guide out there. I’m working on a newsletter dedicated to it but wanted to share it with you before!
