Everything I've Worn Recently

The last few weeks have mainly consisted of a lot of travel. Cyprus, St Tropez, back to London, Menorca and in a couple of days, France again. All for work which I’m very grateful for but it’s meant a heavy rotation of summer staples and outfits that, well, I’ve actually really loved which is testament to my style ethos of choosing better so everything works together.

So, let’s get into it…

There’s nothing better than a failsafe silk/satin slip dress (bonus points for lace) in summer. When the temperature climbs and your first thought is to reach for something cool, slip dresses are your best friend, especially in the evening for dinner. They’re so chic and timeless and this one from Arket has a beautiful vintage feel about it.

I can’t believe I’m in my 30’s and this is my first beach cover-up! I don’t know what I was doing all these years but I wanted to find one that was elegant and could take me from the boat to the beach to the restaurant for lunch and I think I’ve found it with this Bardot open weave dress.

This Frankie Shop dress got a lot of love on Instagram and it’s not hard to see why. Made from a poplin cotton, it’s really breathable and lightweight and the drop waist makes it a very flattering fit. I won’t lie, butter yellow made me very nervous as I don’t think I have the colouring for it but actually, with tanned skin it worked very well for our wine tasting trip, especially with gold jewellery and sandals. One thing I will say is size down as it’s very stretchy.

OK, not technically an outfit but this Heidi Klein bikini was worth a mention because I struggle to find really great swimwear that doesn’t go thinner than a threadbare cushion whilst also giving me some shape but this did the job! And before you come at me for the gold hardware, it’s only half-way so no third degree burns here thank you!

A quick pit-stop in London for the Global Championships Tour with Longines meant I needed a smart-casual outfit (anyone else hate that term?) that could withstand 30 degree heat. Everything but the shorts and watch here is actually quite old but I’ve linked very similar pieces HERE. What I will say is that I wouldn’t recommend the shorts as the material isn’t the greatest quality. My sister actually lent me these shorts in a pinch but they’re not authentic linen. So, I’ve linked better ones in the link above.

I stepped a little out of my comfort zone for this outfit in Cyprus because, if you can’t test your style boundaries on holiday, when can you? I wouldn’t normally wear a skirt like this but I thought it was so perfect for the hotel and the setting, I teamed it with old faithfull pieces on my wardrobe which made me feel more like me and actually I got a lot of compliments on the night which affirms that a little fashion risk pays off…sometimes.

Sometimes the best outfits are the simplest ones and I will die on this hill! This Palome silk dress is lighter than air and is such a wardrobe staple so it was perfect for dinner at Zuma. I dressed it up with lots of gold accessories including a chunky necklace I’ve had forever, a YSL belt and Victoria Beckham clutch. I’ve never felt more like myself in this outfit and I can’t wear it again already. I’ve linked everything HERE

An evening out in St Tropez called for a little glamour without completely abandoning myself so this rust coloured dress was perfect. A little Grecian with the neck detail but it added just the right amount of drama for a summer evening out. Because of this i kept everything else simple and paired down to let the dress do all the talking.

Brown, linen, floaty with a little drama - all the boxes were ticked with this outfit. I never usually wear anything so low cut but it felt really elegant and chic. If I’m being picky, the top ties were a little too long but I can live with that! The trousers were incredibly light and silky so were perfect for a hot summer’s evening. Because the top had the gold hardware I kept jewellery very minimal with just a wrist and ear cuff and yes, I mixed metals because it’s an old myth that you shouldn’t!

I saw this Dissh dress a few weeks ago in white and I wish I had bought it immediately because it had sold out by the time I went to get it. I personally really like black outfits in summer, I think they’re really beautiful, especially when it’s a summer dress. I know it’s a floaty, oversized dress but it kind of swamped my frame so I added a simple rope belt to cinch in my waist and give it a little more shape.
