This Week: Two Jersey Shore Tech Events in 2 weeks

Two quick announcements:

• Our first ever “Ask & Offer” event is at capacity. Nice work! Maybe we’re onto something here? If things go well (why wouldn’t they?) we’ll make sure to continue this style of event.

• New February event “5 Principles for Entrepreneurship at Every Scale” announced! More on this below.

Community member Joe Maruschak (Managing Director - Aventurine Capital Group) pitched the idea of an “Ask & Offer” style event where we start the event by doing a circle intros, but only allowing 20 second intros for each member, before breaking out into the traditional networking event — meeting new members and hanging with old friends. Joe will be leading the event, along with the rest of the JST*D team.

​The instructions are dead simple:

1. ​We’ll go around the group and have everyone briefly introduce themselves, make an ask (“anybody have any experience with [x]?”), and offer up their expertise (“I am skilled at [y] if anyone needs help with that”).

2. ​The gathering will then open up into the typical networking event where everyone can mingle and chat with people they want to help or receive help from.

We’re super stoked to welcome Matthew Canning, CEO of NoPlex, as the featured speaker for our February 19th event at The Center for Entrepreneurship at Monmouth University.
