BookMaker, my app!

I’ve made a small app!

It’s called Bookmaker, and it’s basically a simple way to keep track of progress when working on comics and children’s books.

I have a friend (great comic artist), who use this clever spreadsheet to track all projects. It works great for them. Personally, I’m allergic to spreadsheets, so I ended up making a web tool.

The idea is very simple: you break your project down page by page, and tick off stages like rough sketch, clean sketch, inking. That’s it. You can add any stage like “script”, “edits” or whatever.

Seeing this all laid out makes a difference. On bigger projects, it’s easy to lose track or feel like nothing is moving. BookMaker gives a clear overview and a bit of momentum as things slowly fill up.

I’m using it now, mostly for illustration work on children’s books, it’s quietly become part of my daily workflow.

All the data is stored locally in your browser, so nothing is sent anywhere and no one else can read it.
