Hi beautiful people,
Happy New Moon in Cancer today.
I’ve realized something important lately as I’ve been taking on motherhood and it’s that there is a quiet kind of grief that doesn’t often get talked about.
It isn’t the grief of losing someone.
Or losing something.
It’s the grief of realizing another season has passed...
...and somehow the life you long to create or the things you long to do are still waiting patiently for you.
I’ve personally reached a whole new level of challenges for honouring my YESes because as a mom, your needs easily get pushed aside. But I’m adamant about mastering this, even as a mom, because I know it’s the way towards our best lives! Being a martyr is absolutely not.
And it’s not because you don’t care about what you desire.
Or because you aren’t trying.
But because life is wonderfully convincing.
There is always another email.
Another responsibility.
Another person who needs something from you.
Another day that feels just a little too full to ask yourself what you need.
So you tell yourself you’ll think about it next week.
Or next month.
Or after the holidays.
Or when work settles down.
Or when life gets easier.
And before you know it...
Summer has arrived.
Again. URGH!
I don’t actually think most of us need more discipline.
Or another productivity system.
I think we need something much gentler.
We need permission to pause.
To interrupt the momentum of busyness long enough to hear ourselves again.
To ask questions like...
What is asking for my attention right now?
What dream have I quietly placed on a shelf?
What YES have I been postponing?
Because our lives aren’t usually transformed by one giant decision.
They’re shaped by hundreds of small moments where we either honor ourselves...
...or slowly abandon ourselves.
One of the reasons I love living seasonally is because nature gives us built-in opportunities to begin again.
Summer carries a very different invitation than spring.
In Ayurveda, summer is connected with Pitta—the energy of passion, purpose, vitality, courage and action.
But healthy action doesn’t mean doing more.
It means becoming intentional about where your energy goes.
The question isn’t:
“How can I fit more into my life?”
It’s:
“What is actually worthy of fitting into my life?”
And then...
Almost perfectly timed...
We welcome a New Moon in Cancer 🦀
I always smile when these two energies meet.
Because while summer asks us to move forward...
Cancer gently asks...
“But are you moving toward home?”
Toward the life that nourishes you.
Toward relationships that feel safe.
Toward work that feels meaningful.
Toward the version of yourself who no longer needs permission to choose what matters.
Perhaps that is what coming home really means.
Not returning somewhere.
Remembering someone.
Yourself.
Maybe this week doesn’t need another checklist.
Maybe it needs a conversation with yourself.
Maybe it needs a journal.
Maybe it needs an afternoon where nothing is more important than remembering what matters.
Because your YES has never stopped waiting for you.
This Friday inside The Yes Collective, we’re gathering for one of my favourite experiences during the year: our Seasonal Virtual Dream Life Design Retreat.
We’ll spend an afternoon slowing down, reflecting on the season behind us, reconnecting with the YES that matters most, and intentionally designing the months ahead using the Say Yes to Your YES Intuitive Life Planner.
If you already own the planner, I’d love to gift you access to the retreat. We’re gathering from 12pm to 4pm EST with a 60-90 minute break to rest and eat midway.
Simply reply to this post (or email me) and I’ll send you the Zoom link.
If you don’t have the planner yet, you can purchase it this week and your retreat access is included. I’ll email you the event link and details once you’ve got your planner.
The planner now also includes a brand-new editable digital workbook for Google Docs and Microsoft Word, alongside all the printable and fillable versions.
Because sometimes the most important thing we can schedule...
...is time to remember the life we’re actually trying to live.
Lots of love,
Jenn xo
🤍 A Gentle Reflection
Before you continue your day, ask yourself:
What YES have I quietly been postponing that deserves my attention this season?
I’d love to hear your answer in the comments.
