This month we explored one of the biggest ways we leave the present moment:
The need to know.
The problem is,the search for certainty pulls us out of what is happening right now.
During class, we explored how the nervous system is wired to seek prediction and certainty. Thousands of years ago, that instinct helped us survive. Today, that instinct leaves us trapped in cycles of overthinking, worrying, future-tripping, and trying to solve problems that don’t even exist yet… or ever will!
One of the ideas we explored is that uncertainty is not only the source of fear but it can be a source of possibility.
The unknown is where:
Miracles and blessings happen
New relationships enter
Opportunities come in
Synchronicities
Entire life chapters begin
As we discussed in class, uncertainty can be viewed in two very different ways:
“Something bad might happen.” or “Something AMAZING might happen.”
Most of us have spent years practicing the first perspective.
ALSO EDIT: Here is the Painkiller exercise from Onami I discussed:
This month is an invitation to practice the second.
We also explored the difference between trust and certainty.
Trust means believing that you can handle what comes next, that life has carried you through challenges before, and that you have the ability to navigate whatever unfolds.
Quotes from the class came from Alan Watts:
“A completely predictable future would already be the past.”
And from Ram Dass:
“The next message you need is always right where you are.”
So release the need to figure everything out.
Allow questions to exist without demanding immediate answers.
Let possibility be bigger than fear.
Trust yourself. Trust the process. Trust that the universe can surprise you.
Enjoy the replay, and I’ll see you at our next live coaching call on June 21. ❤️
