Change is often caused by a catalyst. Having a near death experience, getting fired, going through a break up, losing, or facing a threat to lose, someone or something you deeply value.
The veil falls, light seeps in, the elephant in the room can no longer be ignored. Something in us starts to stir, until there’s an uprising of emotion that must inevitably be funneled into an equal and opposite reaction.
That is how I feel watching California slip through my hands. I must do something to defend her. We must. This is my home, our home, and we’re under attack. For far too long, “experienced politicians” have turned up the temperature of chaos and told us it’s our new normal.
Zombie drug addicts doing fentanyl in the park, tent encampments blocking the path to an elementary school, prostitutes on Figueroa openly selling sex, dogs being tortured on Skid Row. Our degenerate status quo, brought to you by those who live in million-dollar gated mansions, tucked safely away from the destruction they’ve created.
This has led to a mass exodus of incredible people, ones who came to this state to act, create, produce, contribute and dream. Ones who hoped to raise their family here in the land of opportunity and perpetual summer vacation.
Instead our government’s negligence has stifled ingenuity, driven out normal families, caused stores and restaurants to close, unable to turn a profit due to sky high costs, crime, and the lack of foot traffic. Who really wants to risk their life dodging a machete-wielding naked man just to pick up their pad thai?
“Blame Trump,” Gavin Newsom says, hoping you won’t remember his 20 year pledge to reduce homelessness, billions and billions in mismanaged funds, and his asinine regulations that make gas sky high and housing impossible to build.
“Our numbers are down,” Karen Bass says referring to crime and homelessness, hoping you won’t look into the fact that encampments are thriving, 911 will put you on hold, and that most people give up on reporting crime because it happens repeatedly and consequences are never dealt.
“It’s really the victim’s fault,” Nithya Raman says, blaming those who own (and make!) cars with catalytic converters, instead of going after the gang members who steal them.
Keep encampments close to schools, spend billions of tax payer funds on giving drug addicts more drugs, and heck, let’s even let illegal immigrants vote in our elections, her DSA-bosses will chant through her.
These are the candidates on your ballots — Bass, running for mayoral re-election after her negligence led to burning down our communities (both literally and figuratively), Raman running for mayor after being a complete socialist failure to her City Council districts of Sherman Oaks, Studio City, and the like.
And Newsom’s protégés (Becerra, Steyer, and Porter), who are grading his blight on the history of our great state with an “A”, not just acknowledging that he drove our state into the iceberg, but assuring us that given the chance, they will, too. Further more— that we should like it!
Not one of these people answers directly to their constituents. They rely on carefully crafted messaging to put you into cognitive dissonance. They hope you will be uninformed, emotionally-charged, and that the word “Trump” will rile you up so much you’ll vote for anything they tell you to, at the risk of your own demise.
They will declare your kids trans and tell you the state has more rights to raise him (“her”) than you do. They’ll send your kid to MacArthur Park to clean up used needles and human defecation as a “field trip”. They’ll waste billions of your taxpayer dollars, refuse accountability, and say the only way to rectify the budget deficit they created is to tax your unrealized gains.
“Billionaires are the devil!” they’ll shout, and you’ll repeat without a second thought. Perpetual victimhood is what you’ve just subscribed to, who needs that American dream?
Soon you’ll find yourself having to sell your stocks or your house in order to give them the cut they feel they deserve of your money. Money that isn’t even in your bank account. For causes you never see fixed, all while their net worth expands at fifty times the rate of normal investment gains.
Do you not see the parallels to communism? They’re hoping you won’t.
They want you to trade your natural rights for state restrictions and call it “freedom”. They want you to forget what our founding fathers fought for, what makes us American, and what sets our nation apart as the greatest in the world.
In the Declaration of Independence, it states: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
It would do California’s current leaders a great service if you could forget that this is your inherent right as an American citizen. Furthermore, denounce it.
No longer do Democrats exist. Socialism, in its place, has snuck in as the party darling with its polished speeches and inclusive sounding euphemisms such as “for the collective good” the “one for the many”.
These smooth-talking liars wrap division, racism, and theft into catch phrases so compelling that they inspire voters, who are unable or unwilling to form a critical thought, to take up the torch that will eventually set their own body on fire.
Toxic empathy. Suicidal empathy. People are handing over their perfectly prepared filet mignon in hopes of receiving state rationed beef by-product. And hating their friends, parents, and acquaintances who try to warn them that they’re enabling and emboldening the fascism they think they’re fighting against.
The government is not your friend. If a politician sounds like a politician, that person is not going to fight for you.
If they are proposing laws to make exposing crime a fraud, they are complicit in the fraud. If they tell you the worsening destruction around you is getting better, they have no interest in fixing it. If they point out the flaws in others instead of taking accountability for their own actions, they are not interested in course correction.
How long will we as Californians allow them to pull the wool over our eyes?
Demand accountability, transparency, and honesty. Do your research. Look for a person running for office that’s not telling you to ignore what you see with your own eyes, but is saying “I see the same things you do and I’m fed up. We don’t have to live like this. It’s time to enforce the laws and make our city safe and clean again.”
Spencer Pratt is that candidate. He’s not running by choice, but because he’s been chosen to take up this fight for the rest of us. He’s experienced the catalyst, a baptism by fire, and is precisely equipped for such a time as this to lead our city back to its golden age.
He won’t tell you crime is down when it’s not. He won’t tell you the homeless have more of a right to defecate on the street than you do to walk down it. He won’t tell you it’s your fault for allowing your home to get broken into.
He will tell you enough is enough, we’re taking our city back.
If you live in LA, are a Democrat, Republican, Liberal, Independent, Conservative, or Libertarian you have a choice to make.
Will you allow yourself to be duped into voting against your best interests? Or will you do your research, watch the debate, listen to your gut, and vote not by party but merit to take our city and state into a different direction than the one that’s brought chaos, destruction, and division the past several decades?

As you watch, ask yourself: whose plan will make your life better and give you more freedom, opportunity, and prosperity, and whose plan requires you to give up more and more money, stay angry, divided, and stifled?

We must flood the vote and pry our state out of the cold, failed hands of politicians, handing it back to we, the people.
