JemCon, Roxy Tart · The JemCon Jam

Okay so. I blinked and two months happened.

If you’ve been following along on social media, you’ve seen the announcements as they dropped. But I know not everyone catches everything — the algorithm does what it wants, life gets chaotic, and suddenly it’s the end of March and you’re like “wait, WHAT contest??”

So this is your catch-up. Every big JemCon 2026 thing that’s happened since…well… Monthly roundups are the plan going forward. Consider this one a two-for-one.

Pour something fun. Let’s go.

The Beach Royalty Doll Fashion Design Contest is over, and honestly? 161 people voted. That is not a small number. That is a fandom showing up.

After all the votes were counted, the winner of the JemCon 2026 official collectible fashion design is:

✨ “Iridescent King” by Athena Fenstermacher ✨

A holographic jacket. A starfish crown. Coastal glamour meets pure regal energy. Rio would respect it. Riot would wear it.

Runners-up “Cape Royalty” and “Merman Dreams” were genuinely stunning — this was not an easy vote, and every designer who submitted should feel so proud. The talent in this fandom is something else.

Athena’s design is now officially in production. It’s going to be a real, physical thing you can hold in your hands. I’m still not over it. However, they will be LIMITED!

Order yours here!

Two new faces have been announced for JemCon 2026: All In The Style, and both of them are adding something really special to the weekend.

Bettina Bush — you know her as the voice of Rainbow Brite, and she also voiced Megan in My Little Pony. But here’s the part that made my whole heart explode: Bettina and Samantha Newark go way back — they were both in a stage production of The Wizard of Oz as kids, with Samantha as Dorothy and little Bettina as a munchkin. The universe loves a full-circle moment and so do I.

Stefanie Clark Eskander — this woman designed some of your favorite Jem dolls. She joined Hasbro in early 1986 and jumped right into Year Two of the line. She created the second-year Holograms, Synergy, Raya, accessories for Hollywood Jem and Regine... and Rama Llama. THE Rama Llama. (In 2025, someone wore a life-sized Rama Llama costume to JemCon and won a costume contest. Stefanie got to watch her creation walk into a room. I cannot deal with how perfect that is.)

This will be Stefanie’s 4th JemCon. She loves this fandom, and honestly? The feeling is extremely mutual.

Named after the Jem episode “The Rock Fashion Book,” the Rock Fashion Runway Competition is our live wearable fashion design competition — happening on stage at JemCon on September 11th.

This is for the designers, the sewers, the “I have a vision and I just need a deadline” people. Real clothes. Real runway. Real Jem energy. Up to 10 finalists will walk the stage with their designs and their models.

Submissions are open through April 15th. And before you talk yourself out of it — please go read the FAQ on the website first. You don’t have to sew. You don’t have to be a professional. Jem universe inspiration is a wide open sandbox: characters, bands, fashion lines, the comics, the 2015 movie, anything in the fandom counts.

Head to jemcon.xyz/fashion-competition and just take a look. That’s all I’m asking.

Registration is 50% sold out.

We are capped at approximately 200 attendees. When we hit capacity, we open a waitlist. The guest lineup — Samantha Newark, Britta Phillips, Townsend Coleman, Bettina Bush, Jared Jones, Stefanie Eskander, and more still to come — is only growing.

If you’ve been doing the “I’ll register soon” thing, I say this with love: soon is now. Register at jemcon.xyz/2026registration.

Our room block at the DoubleTree Hilton San Diego Bayside is still open, but it’s moving. Use group code JEM to get the discounted rate — and the discounted parking, which matters because San Diego parking is no joke.

The block runs September 10–14, 2026. Free airport shuttle, no resort fees, 15% off food and beverage. It’s genuinely a great deal and you want to be in the right building. Code ends August 20th, but honestly, the block will probibly be gone by then.

Your Roxy. Your Clash. Your Minx. Your Jem in full Stage Fright look. Whatever character has been living rent-free in your head for years — this is the fandom where everyone in that room will know exactly who you are and absolutely lose their minds about it.

The cosplay pageant is part of the weekend programming. Full details at jemcon.xyz/cosplay-pageant

This one is a big deal to me personally.

The Jem Community Forum is open, free, and amazing! Boards for the cartoon, dolls, comics, music, fan art, memes, style, JemCon news, industry news, community news, and more — organized, permanent, and completely ours. No algorithm deciding who sees what. No posts disappearing into the void. No bots flagging your doll sale as spam.

We’ve been saying for years that this fandom deserves a space it actually owns. This is that space. Come join us — and bring every Jem fan you know with you. It gets better every time someone new walks through the door.

April is going to be a busy one. Rock Fashion Runway finalists are being announced mid-month, a song writing content, a community tarot card design deck, more guest news is coming, and the pre-convention drag show at Urban Mo’s on September 10th is shaping up to be an absolutely legendary night. I’ll keep you posted on all of it.

If you’re not registered yet, or you need ANY info: jemcon.xyz. September 11–13, 2026. San Diego. Do the thing.

See you there. 👑✨
