Are you a “visionary, deeply collaborative, and strategically minded editor” who cares about books? Could you use an extra quarter of a million dollars a year?
If that sounds like you, why not apply for the job of editor of the New York Times Book Review?
The Times is seeking a replacement for its previous “visionary,” Gilbert Cruz, who’d held the job since July 2022 before it reassigned him in June to the bizarre newly created post of “Canon editor.” A recent social media post by Carolyn Ryan, a managing editor of the Times, had the great news that you may qualify. She called her post: “Dream job alert: come to The NYT to be Books editor.”
