Do your texts make parents feel seen - or managed?

I built a free tool that checks whether your texts are respectful of parents.

Earlier this month I launched the Oudervriendelijkheidscheck: a Dutch tool that analyses professional texts for parent-respectfulness. The response was immediate: professionals in education, social work, and healthcare started using it to check their letters, policies, and websites. The feedback has been striking. From practitioners calling it “painfully accurate at exposing blind spots” to a parent who tested a letter from her child’s school and said: “It captured exactly where it stings.”

That response made me want to make it accessible beyond the Netherlands. So here it is: the Parent-Respectful Check. It’s optimised for a UK context, but works just as well for anyone writing in English — whether you’re in Australia, Ireland, Canada, or anywhere else.

It analyses any professional text against seven criteria grounded in the parenting theory of Alice van der Pas. It shows you what a parent reads between the lines, and suggests concrete rewrites.
