Don’t put it off. I know so many folks who say they really want to travel someday, especially when they retire. To them I say…do it now. Find a way. Plan and execute. Don’t let unimportant things get in the way. Why?

Because time, health, finances, and world events are ever changing. We tend to take for granted all those things.

We have been so blessed to travel to many interesting places…Europe, a tiny bit of Canada, three corners of the U.S., and at last count, 30 states total. We will add to the state count soon as we embark upon a cross country trip in our little motor home. Max, our little dog, loves to travel and we love taking him along.

Being a history lover (see my historical novels for proof) I love stopping at museums and historical sites all over the country. The unending national parks, state parks, Corps of Engineer campgrounds, etc. satisfy our love of camping and seeing the beautiful expanse of nature. This is a wonderfully diverse land we live in. There is so much to enjoy, and you will never have enough time to see it all.

But you can try!

You make it happen by being purposeful, and by learning to be a good planner. My friends and family will tell you that I’m a bit obsessed with researching, planning, preparing, and reserving far ahead of our trips. If I don’t, it won’t get done and time slips by. This is my encouragement to y’all…just do it.

Even if you don’t have an RV or weeks at a time to spare, start small and begin to explore. It’s worth saving up for, and the sacrifice of effort.

Our calendar is pretty full for the rest of the summer and into fall with camping, fishing, crabbing, site-seeing, visiting family, and whatever else we can squeeze in. Only God knows how long we have on the earth to travel, but that’s okay. Our forever adventure will be exploring the heavens for eternity. No need for planning or scheduling there - but you will need a reservation. : ) John 3:16

Happy trails
