The Life You Want Six Months From Now Is Being Built Today

You are going to wake up six months from now and your life will be different. Or it won’t be. And the most powerful thing is you get to decide.

Not necessarily because something magical happened overnight. Not because you finally figured everything out or because the universe suddenly decided you were ready. It will be different because, between now and then, you will have made hundreds of small decisions that quietly added up to a life you are living. You will have chosen differently. You will have stopped tolerating something. You will have taken the chance, had the conversation, made the decision, or finally become willing to do something you have been telling yourself you will do someday.

Or you will have kept doing what you’ve always done, waiting for something outside of you to change first.

The question is whether you will make those decisions consciously.

Because right now, we are standing at a particularly interesting threshold. The Lion’s Gate portal opens on July 26, and whether or not you consider yourself someone who “believes” in portals, I think the timing of this one is worth paying attention to. We are moving through Leo Season, Mercury is about to turn direct after weeks of retrograde, Saturn is preparing to turn retrograde, Jupiter has just entered Leo, and a Full Moon in Aquarius is coming on July 29. The traditional peak of Lion’s Gate arrives on August 8.

There is a lot happening in the sky, but what interests me is what all of this seems to be asking us to look at what you’re doing here on Earth.

What are you building?

Not what are you hoping for. Not what are you visualizing. Not what are you telling yourself you will do someday when the timing is better, when you have more confidence, when you know exactly what you are doing.

What are you actually building through the way you live today?Because the life you want six months from now is being built by who you are today. And I think that is a much more confronting question than, What do you want to manifest?

Because most of us are very good at knowing what we want. We want more freedom. More money. More love. More time. A different relationship with our bodies. A business that feels like ours. A home that feels like home. More adventure. More peace. More confidence. More aliveness.

But wanting something and becoming someone who can actually live it are two very different things.

You can say you want love, but never put yourself in a position to actually meet someone new. You can say you want more money, but keep spending your time doing things that cannot possibly create more of it. You can say you want freedom, but organize your entire life around avoiding uncertainty. You can say you want to be seen, but keep hiding the parts of yourself that might actually make you visible. You can say you want a different career, but never apply for the job, make the offer, publish the work, or take the risk that would move you toward it. You can say you want deeper friendships, but keep waiting for other people to reach out first. You can say you want to feel better in your body, but continue making choices that leave you feeling disconnected from it. You can say you want a completely different life and then spend every day rehearsing the exact same identity that created the life you have now.

This is the part of manifestation that I think we don’t talk about enough.Your life doesn’t change because you decided what you want.It changes when your choices begin to match it.

And that is why I am paying attention to what is happening astrologically right now.

Not because I think the planets are going to do the work for us. I don’t think the Lion’s Gate portal is a cosmic vending machine where you put in a wish and wait for the universe to deliver it to your front door.I think these moments are useful because they give us something we don’t always give ourselves: a reason to stop.

A reason to look at where we are. A reason to ask whether the person we are being today is actually moving us toward the life we say we want.

Sometimes we need a date on the calendar to make a decision we have been avoiding. Sometimes we need a threshold to give ourselves permission to begin. Sometimes we need to be reminded that the future isn’t something that happens to us. It is something we participate in creating, one choice at a time.

And perhaps that is what this moment is really about. Because six months from now is coming either way.

The only question is who you will be when you get there?
