James Junk · Paperless Publishing

Welcome back! Or should I say, I am 👋🏽

Hi, it’s James. It’s been 14 or so months since my last installment, and while lots have changed, one thing has not: that I’ve got thoughts and feelings around being a creative human on the internet.

So here’s the update: I’m renaming this Substack. chaos theory is becoming Paperless Publishing.

If you’ve been following my work on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen “Paperless Publishing” floating around. It’s basically become the name for the editorial lane I’ve been in lately: longer-form writing about the internet, creativity, design culture, attention, and whatever else I can’t stop chewing on.

And for a while now, it’s felt a tad silly that this little Substack of mine - the literal spot I’m supposed to be writing - has been defunct, derelict, descended into devoidness.

So I’m bringing it back to life, but more importantly: I’m bringing it back to life with clarity. In a sentence, Paperless Publishing is my ongoing attempt at making sense of what the internet and the world is doing to us - especially creatives - in real time. You can expect to receive exactly that.

If you’ve been subscribed since the chaos theory days: thank you for staying put! Seriously. And if you’re newer here: hi, welcome to the longform side of my brain. Don’t let the the run-on sentences and unsolicited nuances turn you off.

Alright. Enough housekeeping. Let’s do this!

Talk soon.
