James Burton · Furious Fables: Storytelling journey of James Burton

Dreamers,

Peter Taylor of Pioneers Blood & Stars #1-4. Bread to Appease, Salt to Repel contacted me a few weeks ago with a suggestion. He suggested a sweet piece of art trade. He was able to get his done first though and I love it.

I love this thing. as a matter of fact I enjoyed seeing Fey and the Phobetor so well done by some one else that I was inspired. I love Fey’s tutu in this and Peters lines all over the place are tight, and well placed.

Soon after I found myself with a visual idea swimming in my head. You see there is this flower in my mind. I have thought of it for years. a flower that blooms were ever the universe cracks growing from the leaked energy so they grow in any environment. Feelds of blue in the desert or the snow. a glowing crack or light emenating somewhere nearby.

Makes me think Kender and Eric. Most of thier game I created the world bits. They went to a swamp filled with these little green monsters who were attached as baite to this huge angler and could only say Boka. Eric thought they were pets and kept fighting the anglers. Kind of a waterfall of thoughts.

One moment to the other.

That darkness around those flowers. Its like an idea from my childhood illuminating the darkness of fear. the darkness of what Nod can be when we are their because of fear.

Huh I just realized that. Its odd how we can be so enveloped by a an idea how something as simple as the splendid colors in Peters work spins it own story in my mind. This image is basically a one panel comic. Someone lost in the dark, finding someone on their own journey. Guided to a light in the dark made of the energy of the world, as If to live for living stake is the reason to hope in the dark.

His Kickstarter is here:

Welcome to Enceladus — a remote ice-mining colony on Saturn’s frozen moon, where survival is hard enough without a vampire on the prowl.

Lilu is no ordinary nightcrawler. She left Earth to escape her own demons - craving only a quiet life (well - that and blood)! But out here, in the cold and dark, ‘quiet’ is just for the dead!

Think sweet space vampires and such. I am serious impressed by his linework.

If you appreciate that amazing sketch take a look at his work so you can back that as well.

Right now we are at 62% and 43 backers. Its a good place to be. We are super close from me doing a live reading for issue 2. Im still a bit vervous. Nowhere near like the last Kickstarter. I was still recovering and as a result had to take like thirty takes. There are times I cant avoice hearing a slow and awkward speech. Side affect but now its far better, but when Im get nervous or emotional there are still moments where it slows and gets difficult.

Oddly though i am a bit nervous I am actually excited to do it.

So here we go I am adding this out to a first stretch if we get to $2000 we shall be adding Mini Prints to all of the Physical rewards and digital Copies for the Digital ones!
