Professor Suhaira Siddiqui talks decline and renewal

This last week on The Thinking Muslim, we had our first Doha interview with the scholar Professor Suhaira Siddiqui. I thought it was a brilliant conversation about how history can instruct us about decline, calling upon her academic research of ‘bleak’ periods of our collective past before the inevitable bounce.

In anticipation, I put the same argument to her during our conversation, and her response is refreshing and by no means contravenes the well-trodden Islamic traditions.
