Just as you start to find your summer groove with beach days and barbecues, the retail world decides it’s time to start thinking about chunky sweaters and cashmere overcoats. On the one hand, this season pushing is silly—after all, who is ready to splurge on cold weather classics when they’re still nursing a 4th of July sunburn? On the other, it means SALES for me and you, as stores have to make space for the incoming aforementioned sweaters and coats.
I’ve said it before, but sale shopping is a double edged sword that can cut you if you’re not careful. It’s important to remember that most of the time, a product went on sale because, well, it’s just not very good. It’s as simple as that. To avoid falling for these discounted temptations, my rule is if you didn’t want to buy it at full price, the fact that it’s on sale isn’t going to change how much you like it when it’s sitting in your closet. But if you sift through the mountains of trendy seasonal product, or the stuff where designers took a big swing and missed, you can in fact find some nice attire that you won’t hate looking at in a couple months. And sifting through every online sale I could find to extract the “Good Stuff” is exactly what I did for today’s post.
The result is 100 (!!!) what I believe to be excellent options, from polos to shorts to hats, jeans, jackets, and everything in between. Discount wise, some of the products are a modest but welcomed 20% off, while I was able to find a few that are being sold for a “they’re giving this thing away” 85% off.
