learning hard stuff

Learning hard stuff is hard. In an ideal world, I wouldn’t have to dive into multivariable calculus or linear algebra. I wouldn’t have to understand the Schrödinger equation. Sure, these topics aren’t really necessary even in this world, but the fact that these hard things exist gives reason to study them. So, how can I learn hard stuff? My philosophy follows a very cloudy line of reasoning: you’re going to have to learn it anyway.

Ever since I took a course in quantum computing, it opened my eyes to the complexity of this world. If I wanted to pursue quantum, or even pursue anything in life, I would need to learn hard stuff. Right now, I don’t feel like my intellectual capabilities will increase in college, so why wait? Just learn the hard stuff, you’re going to have to learn it anyway.

Thank you for listening to my 💩talk
