Ever had a Rip Van Winkle moment? Suddenly, feeling like you missed the past 20 years? That’s me all over. I remember thinking and writing, thinking and writing, thinking some more, then rewriting. Then… I just stopped. Don’t know exactly why, although I have my suspicions. But really, it doesn’t matter because I seem to be waking up again, creatively speaking. And at 73, I don’t have time or energy left to analyze the whys and wherefores of my deep slumber. Perhaps it will play out that I didn’t actually stop. Maybe I just hit the pause button for a really long spell. Guess only time will tell.
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes from a real rebel. I had forgotten about this one during my self-imposed hibernation.

My prayer is that for the balance of my time on God’s beautiful earth, I’ll remain a Rebel Without a Pause and write as if my life depends on it.
