Prince in Under The Cherry Moon

No matter where you are on this planet, Nice, Minneapolis, London, Lagos, or Brooklyn, you are invited to come down to our world, today. That’s what makes this symposium’s first hybrid format so beautiful.

Day 1 is fully virtual.

As Christopher Tracy told Tricky: “We live in a parade. Dig?”

This weekend, so do we.

This newsletter will be your go-to source for all announcements, updates, and messages about #IWonderU40. Emails will be sent daily, beginning today through Sunday. If you prefer not to receive these messages via email, feel free to unsubscribe and read them directly on Substack.

Prince Parade (1986)

Parade (1986), Prince’s eighth full-length studio album (subtitled “Music from the motion picture Under The Cherry Moon“), features the massive hit, “Kiss,” plus beloved b-sides, “Love or $” and “Alexa De Paris.”

Don’t have your own copy? You can listen to it on Prince’s official YouTube channel.

Under The Cherry Moon (1986)

Under The Cherry Moon (1986), Prince’s second narrative film, following Purple Rain (1984), had a rough reception in real-time, but it has since become a beloved cult classic, reappraised by fans and film critics alike.

Unfortunately, Under The Cherry Moon is no longer free on YouTube, but you can rent or buy it if you don’t have your own copy and want to watch it in advance.
