There has been so much for me to witness and write about this week but for reasons I will explain – this is going to be a short edition of The Weekly Witness.
Nigel Farage has called for a by election in his constituency of Clacton on Sea. Farage has been rallying the troops against the ‘establishment’ (an establishment that former Dulwich College fee payer Farage has been a part of since birth) and claiming to be the most harassed MP ever. The family of murdered MP Jo Cox would beg to differ. Farage is running against a man with a bin on his head. Yes this is the state of British politics today.
Count Binface gets my vote every time in this farcical by election.
Trump has been turning up the heat in Iran shortly after America got knocked out of the World Cup (despite the over puffed wotsit having FIFA in his back pocket). The streets of Tehran are feeling the fury of the sulkiest World Cup Loser ever. Most toddlers just throw their toys out of the pram. This one throws missiles.
The heat itself is turning up! Britain is in the middle of its second heatwave. It is easier to score a wrap of crack than a tub of ice cream and we are burning through the ‘Soltan’ quicker than carbon emissions are burning through the ozone. We are indeed living through unprecedented times.
And that includes football. I am English so I have to mention the football or they take my passport away or something. Last night England beat Norway to reach the semi finals of the World Cup. Jude Bellingham scored two goals which, in English eyes, makes him above the Pope but just below Jesus. The semi final beckons, I will keep half an eye on it just in case the new Messiah Bellingham hits the back of the net again.

But allow me to step back from the outside world. To witness something amazing in my own personal world.
