Natalie Marie · The Lunch Break

Can you believe it’s almost the end of summer? I swear we start celebrating fall earlier and earlier every year. And guys, I love fall more than anyone I know, but I’m firmly of the belief that it can’t start until September 1st!

Anyone else? It doesn’t help that it’s also 99 degrees outside.

And because my birthday is next Sunday I’m hosting a corn dinner in honor of the end of the season. It will be my official farewell to summer (even though realistically it will probably still be 90 degrees here… alas).

P.S. Before it does end, make sure to soak up the produce while you can. Peaches! Corn! Tomatoes! Nectarines! They’re all so good right now.

Anywho, let’s get to a few teeny tiny updates!

I started the monthly meal plans about 6 months ago, and they’ve been so fun to create. But I’ve been thinking about how to make them easier to use, easier to revisit, and more useful in your actual kitchen.

Until now, the meal plan has been one big post with five brand-new recipes (one breakfast, two lunches, and two dinners) all bundled together at the beginning of the month.

The problem? It made the meal plan realllllly long, and if you wanted to make just one recipe, you had to scroll through the entire thing to find it. It also meant I couldn’t easily link to those individual recipes anywhere else.

Soooo, I’m changing the format!

The five recipes will no longer all live ONLY inside the monthly meal plan.

Instead, I’ll be sharing a brand-new lunch or dinner recipe every Friday morning for paid subscribers. Each recipe will have its own standalone post, with notes and substitutions, so you can easily save it, share it, or come back to it later.

Then, at the beginning of each month, I’ll publish your monthly meal plan separately.

The meal plan will pull from the entire Lunch Break recipe archive, so I can curate five seasonal recipes that make sense for that particular month, whether they’re recipes I shared recently or ones you may have missed from earlier in the archive.

And the meal plan will still include the full grocery list, Sunday prep guide, ingredient substitutions, and everything else you need to actually make the plan happen.

And once a month, I’ll also share a new breakfast or dessert recipe that’s free for all subscribers.

So the new rhythm will be:

  • The first Saturday of the month: a monthly meal plan with 5 seasonal recipes from the Lunch Break archive, including the full grocery list and prep guide. Free subscribers will get a preview of what we’re making and the grocery list, while paid subscribers get the full meal plan, including all five recipes, the complete grocery list, Sunday prep guide, and ingredient substitutions.

  • Every Friday: a brand-new lunch or dinner recipe for paid subscribers.

  • Once a month: a breakfast or dessert recipe for all subscribers.

Basically, the meal plan becomes your seasonal starting point, and the weekly recipe drops become new additions to your recipe library that you can mix and match as the weeks go on.

Hopefully this will mean much easier-to-use meal plans, much easier-to-find recipes, and a recipe archive that gets better every month! Yay!

And I’ll also be going back through the entire meal plan archive and creating standalone posts for every recipe I’ve shared so far. I won’t be sending them all through email (because, well, that would be A LOT of emails), but over time they’ll all have their own individual posts in the app, so you’ll be able to easily find, save, and revisit every recipe in one place.

Open to any and all feedback on this format, so if you have any thoughts feel free to respond directly to this email or if you’re reading on the app you can message me or leave a comment below :)

xoxo,

Natalie
