Welcome to week 5 of my No Stove Summer Series! Today I’m sharing my Slow Cooker Cowboy Butter Chicken Orzo, and this may be my favorite recipe I’ve ever shared! The easiest slow cooker dinner with so much flavor.
This one came together on a night when I had almost nothing planned for dinner and it ended up being one of the most requested meals in our house. The slow cooker does everything and by the time the orzo goes in you’re basically already done.
This slow cooker cowboy butter chicken orzo is the creamy, comforting crockpot dinner that practically makes itself. Diced chicken breast cooked low and slow in a seasoned lemon butter broth with Kinder's Cowboy Butter Seasoning, then orzo and heavy cream added in the last 30 minutes to absorb all that flavor, finished with freshly grated Parmesan and fresh spinach. Rich, slightly tangy from the lemon, and deeply satisfying in every bowl.
Every week, I share my favorite budget-friendly slow cooker dinners to make for my family, which includes a full grocery list pdf to keep!
The slow cooker does almost all the work. Add the chicken and seasonings, set it, and come back when it smells incredible.
Kinder’s Cowboy Butter Seasoning adds a bold, buttery, slightly spiced depth that makes this taste like significantly more effort than a crockpot dinner.
The orzo cooks directly in the seasoned cream and broth and absorbs every bit of flavor during the final 30 minutes. No separate pot needed.
Freshly grated Parmesan stirred in at the end produces a silky, rich sauce that coats every piece of orzo and chicken beautifully.
