Antibes, France. All photos mine.

Cari amici,

A lot has been going on. As the above photo tells you, I’m at the beach—specifically the southern coast of France. After spending a few days in Antibes, I’m now in Collioure for a week, for a Come to Your Senses retreat for writers (check it out at Karen Karbo’s site Karbohemia.com). More on that later.

A Come to Your Senses apéro dînatoire.

This road trip has had its share of surprises, including an unexpected copilot, an undignified activity best done anywhere but on the autostrada, and a bloodsucking stowaway. Along the way I’ve been juggling some publishing-related developments, some of which I can talk about and some I can’t, along with some legal and financial stuff. Not great to deal with while on the road, but hey, you gotta roll with the punches.

BUT! I have super good news that I can tell you about—my third novel will come out in spring 2028 from Cynren Press, which has me doing Snoopy’s happy dance on a daily basis. More on all that later.

Next stop: Arles, maybe. Chissà! In the meantime, here are some photos of the picturesque little town of Collioure.

Tante belle cose, alla prossima—

Cheryl

How Long a Shadow can be preordered at Cynren Press, bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon (U.S.). It’s not yet available for purchase outside of the U.S. The Wild Impossibility is available on Amazon while supplies last; a new edition is forthcoming in August. Three more ways to support authors: ask your library to stock their books, recommend the books to your friends, and leave a few lines of praise on any bookish site. You’d be surprised how much a rating or review helps authors. Baci!
