May hit Athens like a truck

One of the worst parts about growing older is that you occasionally feel like you’re losing a battle with time. You blink, and four months have passed since you were popping champagne with your friends on New Years Eve.

There was Easter. There were deadlines. There was ennui. Concrete started pouring out of the streets of Kypseli, like some weird modern doomsday sign. Then there was winter again. I bought a bougainvillea for my balcony and I’m checking on it every day, like it’s a pet.

May has come upon us, and with it, summer and so many events happening in Athens, that I promise, you will be overwhelmed. I am.

She is pretty. Wish her luck. I’m actually better with dogs than with plants.

On to the news.

How could I, who did not bother anyone, do not drink, do not smoke, do not gamble, was not a degenerate, be useless to myself as well as to my neighbor?

Thanks for reading The Lost Expat Digest (in Greece)! This post is public so feel free to share it.

That’s it. Have a great weekend and do write back. Even if it’s just to complain.
