Issue IX: PART II OCEANIC CURRENTS from 52 Ripples on Patreon ⛲️
I am thrilled to share this ninth issue with Zine Club Patrons after the winter hiatus! This issue features a moving Ocean Poem by my Craft Coven friend Suzanne Palmer. This is a magickal time to join or upgrade your subscription.
The upcoming Aquarius New Moon feels much edgier than January’s New Moon in Capricorn. It seems to be demanding attention and action in a way that the Capricorn moon did not. Perhaps its the “supercharged” energy of the annular Ring of Fire eclipse. Or perhaps its the arrival marking Chinese New Year with the shift from Wooden Snake to Flaming Horse. My final half-finished Vision River of the Milky Way has been haunting me from my wall this past week, echoing the demanding call of the Moon. Thankfully I have time carved out for some potent visioning, whether I finish my final Vision River, or simply embark on a new experiment.
A friend shared the idea of a becoming board with me early in January. Most of my Vision Boards and Rivers are incredibly vibes focused, the rivers especially anchored in how I wanted feel each month, rather than what I wanted to accomplish. A Becoming board is a more on the accomplishment side of the spectrum, where you gather concrete images and then as you achieve them, you replace the images with your own adventures. I am drawn to this experiment because noticing the change is something I often miss. I am curious to actively engage with the becoming board by updating it with photos from my phone. I am wonder if the process might make me more present. What are your thoughts on the idea?

My creative energies have finally flowed back to me (plus the looming need to pack up the majority of my art studio). This week I remembered why I like making art and being in ritual while creating. I drew my cards, lit my candles, cranked up the music and suddenly hours had gone by. Here are a few moments from my studio to inspire and bring joy.
A small wish I have for this year is to continue posting zines from my collection in the Khaleidoscope Zine Archive, in part to honor all the writing and work that has gone into them, and in part to stay connected with the world through new musings and writing. For this year, as much as I am able without stress or complication, I want to share the Flower I associate with each Zodiac sign at the New Moon. These flowers each correspond to a zine from my 52 Petals project I completed in 2021. I already shared the full zine for Orchid last summer so this post has no paywall, however if you become a paid subscriber you can still find the complete issue at the end of the previous post. HAIL ORCHID, Phalaenopsis stuartiana, most refined, elegant, graceful, and heavenly of flowers, I call upon you to share your sensuous spell with me. Polish my best and rarest traits so that my magnetism attracts the best people and situations to my life. Let my shining personality sparkle to the surface and inspire my inner sovereignty to speak out with confidence and charm. Cast around me a circle of talent, affection, and love so that my days are filled with wonder. Aho! Hail and Welcome.
Orchid is the flower associated with Aquarius, the Waterbearer of the western Zodiac. This is the final air sign, known for their out-of-the-box and independent thinking.
Orchid and Aquarius are powerful allies that call forth our individuality, confidence, inner beauty, and outer quirks in such a way that allows us to navigate how to share the best parts of ourselves with the world.
Use these words to craft a blessing, prayer, or song, honoring all that Aquarius Season has to offer us. Flowers vibrate with the language of the universe, helping us find our own songs to sing each day in praise of cosmic magick.
I printed the words from the Zine and blended them with other found words from my ever evolving word pool collection to create my Song for the Aquarius New Moon. It reads:

Can I let my artist surrender to the rhythms of this moment? Can I stay in my feeling body with all the ups and downs? Can I keep my humor? I want to say YES! I can and I will, and I also want to capture these musings on my vision board on Tuesday. I hope you join me for the creative gathering. It is always a nourishing time.
