Those days in the village, we eat rice on special occasions like Christmas, New Year and Easter.

Akpu don finish for house wey you go dey think of rice? Except on rare occasions when other foods are not available.

But, we have a family that prepared this grain every market day.

One week is four market days.

So, if you mistreated anyone of the children from this family, you're in their bad books.

You received your judgment on that day- you won't have a taste of the rice.

They determined who to share in the spoonfuls they'll dole out.

*****************************

My guy, rice hasn't changed.

It is that same rice that some of us buy one bag and keep at home.

It is that same rice that some of us turn down in preference for other foods.

It is a big lesson.

That thing you're pursing that seems illusive, will one day, become commonplace to you.

You'll look at it and wonder why you wanted to kị̀ll yourself over it.

What looks like rice to you could be getting a good paying job, travelling out of your country, going for a graduate programme, making your WAEC or UTME.

You always laugh last if you persevere.

It just a matter of time.

Good morning!
