New TODAY…
You’d be amazed how many new products come out each week—and I only share the launches that pique my interest.
Tower 28 expands its makeup range with the GoGo Cooling Shimmer Eyeshadow Stick. Gentle enough for sensitive lids (and eczema!), the soothing, hydrating water-based formula delivers a wash of glimmer without the need for a brush.
PLUS… Crown Affair now has a night cream for your hair. The Overnight Repair Serum strengthens, softens, reduces breakage and helps quell frizz while you sleep thanks to a nourishing blend of flaxseed, chia seed and rosemary leaf extracts that won’t weigh the hair down. Get early access via the Sephora app today before it drops tomorrow!
Travel takeaways…
I did my fair share of traveling this summer, and between trips to L.A. and Colorado I zig-zagged my way across the country not once, but twice. (Shout out to these compression socks!) Of course I needed some new gear, and these picks totally upped my packing game.
As much as I wish I could say this post is sponsored by Away—it’s not. That said, it was time to invest in a new piece of luggage, so I bought the Bigger Carry-On. I was easily able to pack for five days (including hiking boots for Beaver Creek!) while having enough room to bring home my vacation purchases.
After years of sub-par toiletry travel (i.e. messy Ziplocs and too many pouches), I picked up Away’s Small Toiletry Bag and Cosmetics Bag to keep me more organized when I’m on the go. I actually use the Cosmetics Bag for my skincare, hair products, makeup brushes and other essentials and reserve the Small Toiletry Bag for my makeup. Again, I was able to fit everything I needed and then some, and the organization contained my usual product explosion in the bathroom—which I’m sure my travel companions appreciated.
Now that I’m at the age where daily meds and supplements are a must, a pill case was in order (because the one I had was just too bulky). I went with Dosey because the 7-Day Pill Compact is ideal for my morning meds, and the Pill Compact is perfect for my bedtime gummies. I just love the vintage look and feel!
After landing in L.A. (and getting an In & Out fix) with my luggage situation sorted, I had a list of spots I wanted to hit up while I was in town. Among the highlights were a visit to Violet Grey (yes, I smelled the $1,000 perfume—it’s lovely!) and Erewhon, where I sampled the Dedcool Xtra Milk smoothie. I enjoyed the blend of Earl Grey tea, coconut milk, banana, dates and coconut whipped cream with a touch of cardamom and blue spirulina. I loved it, but my son preferred the “Hailey Bieber.” Among the other highlights were losing my shit over the vintage tees at The Dig in Venice, drank my body weight in matcha, was introduced to Swedish candy (OMG), and spotted Aesop hand soap everywhere.
And since hand sanitizer is a travel essential, just a heads up that Le Labo recently launched the basil- and verbena-scented Rinse-Free Hand Gel. (Because Purell is so plebian.) ICYMI, the brand also introduced the Perfuming Hand Cream in Another 13, Bergamote 22, Rose 31, Santal 33, Thé Matcha 26 and Thé Noir earlier this summer (along with a Discovery Set).
On another note…
Quince has become my go-to for bedding, cashmere cardigans and more. In a somewhat interesting move (at least in my opinion), the site now offers a selection of skincare from luxury brands like Augustinus Bader, 111SKIN, Irene Forte, Le Prunier and True Botanicals. But instead of the steep discount upfront Quince has become known for, you get a site credit when you purchase any of these items. I’m all for it!
I may use affiliate links that allow me to earn a small commission on items purchased through my Substack. I work my hardest to only link products that I have tried or otherwise would purchase myself!
