It’s time for another edition of the Friday Five.

We may be in the dog days of the off-season, but Infernal Access readers continue to bring the heat with fun and creative questions.

Let’s get to this week’s batch.

Q: What role do you see for Amadeus Lombardi this year?

I expect Lombardi to be a regular on the 4th line who could see extra usage if the Devils are chasing the game or injuries arise.

Lombardi ranked 6th in primary points per 60 over the last two seasons in the AHL, and he also slotted tied for 7th in primary points per game among U25 forwards. He has juice offensively.

I think the Devils want to roll four lines that can legitimately play, and Lombardi’s speed and offensive instincts should serve him well.

The Devils didn’t trade a 4th rounder for him to sit in the seats or waive him. He is going to get an opportunity to play, and I think he’ll make the most of it.

Whether that’s centering the 4th line, or shifting to the wing if the Devils opt to use Evan Rodrigues and deploy four top-9 talents down the middle, he’ll suit up regularly.

I’m excited to see what he can do.

Q: What pieces are the Devils missing that can make them Stanley Cup contenders?
