Hello, all:
It has been exactly three months since my last newsletter, and let’s face it, they weren’t exactly flying off the presses thick and fast to begin with. This is entirely my fault and I can only offer my apologies; various life circumstances have played havoc with my writing schedule. Things are falling into slightly more of an order now, and I hope to resume a more regular pace, as it were, offering you various thoughts and reflections, as well as updates on my own writing progress, from my little perch here in southern Indiana.
So, where were we? Back in May, I was working on Rise of the Pinball: I have now set that aside for a later time and am working on an Atlantean war novel. The current word count is 1907, which isn’t a lot, I know, but I’m still aiming for a (very) rough draft by the end of the year. You can find an excerpt here:
In the world of Edison City, I’ve started yet another serial, and I don’t even have a title for it yet! You can find the first episode below:
Meanwhile, while I do not yet have the Lego Minas Tirith, I am nearly finished with the rebuild of the Lego U.S.S. Enterprise, N.C.C. 1701-D. After that, I’ve got Sauron’s helmet to do next. It came to me on my birthday, my precious. makes gollum noises
(It actually did; my birthday was last month and my wife is very lovely and knows that I like Lego as a hobby).
I wanted to call particular attention to this: not only does Babylon Five now have an official YouTube channel, but they are also uploading full episodes! They’re still in season one so it’ll be a minute before they catch up to where Simon K Jones is in his rewatch, but in the meantime, here’s a hilarious clip from that same channel:
Zathras is the best. So is Zathras.
Until next time,
Michael
