India Hobson · the quiet sublime

In true sublime form I have a wave of things to share that come in no particular order and in, quite honestly, a bit of a jumble. Some images/projects from last year that have been published, a small collection of scraps and things I’ve seen recently and a little insight into what I’ve been up to as the leaves unfurl and burst into life.

Some links are affiliate links and marked with an *.

I consider myself incredibly lucky to travel all over the place photographing for the Why Women Grow podcast:

Olia Hercules for the Why Women Grow podcast
Sam Lee, photographed for Australian Financial Review (and yes it is fair to say that if I’m commissioned to take your photo, you may end up in the bushes)
I got to know some incredible objects, shooting for One of a Kind
artists: OU Glasswork by Hyeyeon Yoo, Sooyon Kim, Jihyun Kim, Yezi Lee, Yeo Dong Yun and Multeo (Yaiji Kim & Sangjun Choi)
Emily Portman, photographed for FT (yes, in a Rhododendron bush)

Custom light sculptures before their journey north to PYRUS in Edinburgh to be included in a 5ft floral installation:

above: green string on a parcel from Carla, good light in the woods, 7 eggs in the blue tit box, detail of Summer Field by Kate Wells spotted during Open Up Sheffield, bark in a skip, lunch break overlooking the River Wharfe, okay-ish light in the woods, :-) and erigeron in the church wall.

above: a weird and wonderful selection of things that India sent me, dandelions, a grizzly walk over the fields, silver from Lines and Current and Mumokuteki (one of my favourite shops in Kyoto.)
