Bond is our twelve-year-old potcake, a Bahamian mixed breed dog with arthritic joints. His medication comes complicatedly from a vet in England, has to be kept cold, and somehow needs to be carried across borders and over oceans.
In the middle of May, the meds went from the vet in London to our fridge in Oxfordshire, where Domino collected them in a cool bag, took them to a party in Chiswick, and handed them over to her brother Amory, who flew them to New York to give to me, where we were spending the weekend celebrating Felix’s 29th Birthday and I could then take them back to the Bahamas.
But Mum fell, and I went from New York to England instead…..
